In:

  • Tylar Young (Richmond) arrived at West Coast in exchange for Pick 38.
  • Deven Robertson (Brisbane) has agreed to join West Coast and will be signed on to the rookie list after being delisted by Brisbane
Out:
  • Oscar Allen joins Brisbane as a FA - West Coast receive Pick 2 as compensation
  • Liam Ryan and a 2027 R3 pick has been traded to St Kilda for a 2026 R2 pick
  • Campbell Chesser has been traded to Carlton for Pick 41

2025 Draft Order

Current Draft Picks:
Round 1: 1, 2, 13
Round 2: 34, 41
Round 3: 53, 58 (These picks are in excess of available list spots so will be forfeited if we don’t consolidate our 2025 picks up the order or trade some for future picks)

List Spots Available (39 of 48):
• Main list (33 of 38) - 5* (in: Starcevich, Young out: Allen, Ryan, Chesser, Hunt, Petruccelle, Jamieson)
• Cat A rookie list (5 of 8) - 3* (in: Robertson (pending), out: Rawlinson)
• Cat B rookie list (1 of 2) - 2 (out: Livingstone)

* Based on Dewar being upgraded after the maximum 3 years on the rookie list. Hutchinson may also have been upgraded but this isn’t confirmed - if it is we will have 4 main and 4 rookie list spots open

* Matthew Clarke has stated we have 5 main list spots

Matt Clarke wraps up the trade period - 6PR

I can't wait for draft day- it feels like we are just stuck on an endless loop:

- unrealistic trades for pick 2
-CDT: gun or spud
-Sharp: gun or spud
-who to Rookie list
-endless permutations around bidding/points/trading up or down/how many list spots

And yet I can't look away!
And don't forget that we're still searching for answers on why we would move people to the rookie list!

Just having an extended look at Dyson Sharp.
Surely I didn’t hear Priddis comparisons did I?
He’s a gun and we will take him in our first two picks.
Good mark,
Great tackler,
Kicking to advantage is elite; this guys decision making under pressure is fantastic.
Slow?? Serious??
Some of the spot ups he did into the corridor were as good as you’ll see.
Dursma/Sharp; Done!!

Can someone explain why we even have rookie lists anymore? Let alone splitting it into categories and forcing clubs to delist players to shift them onto these redundant lists?

It’s totally pointless in its current form and completely removed from it’s original purpose

Exists as an unnecessary list management tool they could and should be scrapped and playing lists increased to 42 plus the Cat B rookie list

I remember the old days when players were promoted from rookie lists at either mid-season or when a player was listed as a long term injury, and that could be the only way they could play senior football.

When did that stop?

I think it may have had something to do with agreed salaries within the CBA - as in a draftee to the Rookie List has a lower base than one on the Senior List.

I am not sure if that is still the same though.

As i've before said there are worse players on the main list than Cripps that should be delisted/rookied before him.
Why is everyone jumping on the rookie list Cripps bandwagon ?
But none that are as old as him.
A younger guy delisted with a promise to rookie is very much in line to be picked up by someone else as a low draft pick.
Someone who's 104 and in their (likely) last season and not likely to uproot and move across the country for one not very highly paid season is 99% safe to still be there for the rookie spot.

And clubs tend to leave the old guys alone. It's not worth using a list spot on someone likely to just jack it in while at the same time getting a club and personal bastard reputation. All pain, no gain.

Today we find out NGA FS commitments

My preference would be in order Banfield, Evans, Williams

and I hope delistings/rerookie of 2

Cripps rookie
Barnett pay out

Gives us 6 list spot for the draft.

4 draftees and Banfield Evans.
Hmmmm I wonder why would the Eagles would give away their draft plans ahead of time? If a bid comes much earlier than expected and we would prefer another player with those picks, why would we lock ourselves in? Seems odd. Other teams could use that info to force us to overpay.

Playing lists should be increased to Min 42 - Max 46.
Weak teams like us can concentrate on grabbing more players and stronger teams can just stick to 42 and pay the stars more.

Is this the kind of ruckman we should using one of our rookie spots on

Rated one of the best best ruck in sanfl this year.

211cm

1 - Lachlan McAndrew (Adelaide)

Measuring in at a massive 211cm, McAndrew adapted to the standard of the Hostplus SANFL League in impressive fashion to be the premier ruckman of the competition.
The 25-year-old averaged 13 disposals, four clearances and five tackles while also leading the League in hit outs with 609 from 16 games, including the major round.
Recruited from the Sydney Swans, McAndrew was selected as first ruck in The Advertiser SANFL Team of the Year and placed runner-up in the Crows’ SANFL Club Champion Award.
Paying out Barnett and trying McAndrew won't make us any worse off.

Don't we have to nominate them before the draft, otherwise we would have to draft them like any other pick, no option to match a bid (because there would be no bid, the team that wants them would just draft them at that pick)

To be fair, I'm off work with a thumping migraine today.

I could barely detect of my **** is on fire right now
On the slim chance it helps, eletriptan has legitimately changed my life in dealing with migraines.

Tried various triptans prescribed by gp at low doses which did nothing then a specialist put me on max dose of 80mg at onset of symptoms and it’s stopped every one I’ve had since.
