I'm not 100% sure what we have next year, except for adding Sydney's 3rd rounder, and I think Port's 2nd, while losing a 3rd to Brisbane.

If we can trade our own 2nd rounder (somewhere between 19 and 36, probably around 30) in a draft plus extras year for a late 1st (22-25) in a compromised draft minus year then I'd be happy with that. Provided it's done for identified targets.

It would be a small upgrade in picks at a cost of going to a smaller, less studied draft pool.

I know it's never fun to get psyched about a limited exposure draft like this - but just remember Schofield was pick 50, played 194 games(ish?) and is absolutely in the best 22 of his draft class.

It makes zero sense that we would be trying to trade back into the 1st round after so epically trading out of the draft completely. Would be a total backflip.

If a player is there we rate was available why wouldnt we?

And now closer to the draft clubs are making calls on moving on picks after finalising list spots plus preparing for live bids.

What is becoming apparent is picks in the 50's will fall into an interesting group of sliders.

It is a strange draft in a strange year.

The Richmond 1st would likely end up 20 would land any one of three rated WA mids. Carrol, O'Driscoll or Trew. It could also land other rated mids. Would love to get Tigers 1st and 61. That 61 ends up 47.

Similar to what my mate said about Fraser Rosman, but he coached against him.

He said don't know if he'll get drafted, was 50/50 on him. Said on athletic ability he gets drafted but would need to improve his output and overall game.
