Most posters show that you are biased towards your team and anyone who does not think the world of them gets scorned instantly. This is something whether it's in Australia or here in the U.S. is getting very tiresome. The only way any of you would be pleased is if the AFL, it's umpires and the media that covers the sports "bent over backwards" to please your club or yet "aided" them to victory and perhaps a flag. (This especially means you some Collingwood, West Coast and some other Essendon fans in particular.)

All that you are accomplishing is flushing the credibility of this board down the toilet. Fred and Groves, I'm sorry if this is vs. CS, but I'm saving and hopefully will restore credibility here at BF.

At least I'm the only one with any semblance of stones to pick the team I root for to miss the Finals. (Essendon going 10th in my predictions.)

It seems to me most of you are looking for is "personal satisfaction" and you the only one entitled to it.

If you think you are more qualified than Caroline Wilson or Mike Sheehan, get a job and write about the AFL.

So, it's time most of you people to quit crying like a bunch of babies, get over it and let everyone else have an opinion. And have one with some credibility behind it. As far as whinging by the club's personnel (ALL 16), they need to get over it as well. (Especially you, Coach Sheedy.)

It's natural to have a sense of unreality about your team, it's called optimism and it's also a product of loyalty. I agree that a dose of reality and the ability for rational discussion would help. but it's never going to happen, so you might as well get over it or move on. Trolls will inhabit a forum, no matter what the subject and it seems that people just can't stop feeding them, so they keep coming back for more easy pickings. Starving trolls is the only way, but it just won't happen.

Oh and by the way, you said root....giggle, snicker hehehehe

we shouldn't mix optimism with unreality - surely being a AFC fan we are hesitate yet optimistic but we all know we aren't going to win the flag (yes we hope but I am not going to argue the point )

There are other ways to send a message to these trolls. If and/or when we re-establish credibility on BF, I'll let go.

I'll come in behind mountain west to a certain extent.Suppose you are referring to the Caroline Wilson rubbish and the general taking of "journalists" ramblings.Who cares basically what they say.Unfortunately these days they,the journos, all compete for space just like the players do for a position.Reporting is almost extint.But they set themselves up and as a result are intitled to be brought down.But yes eloquence is far better than abuse.A decidedly missing quality these days unfortunately.
Having pontificated, we all love the passion by all the supporters and whatever is put up here has never been translated to a game in my experience.In fact I'd much prefer sitting with a mixture of both teams fans than simply with my own team.It's more fun in the former and boring in the latter.
Almost all are pretty good.
