Corey Jones v Ryan O'Keefe

Corey Jones is a decent forward but nowhere near the level of O'Keefe. Corey needs to become a lot more consistent with his performances before he can be judged as an elite player, which Ryan is.

O'Keefe is a gun, works incredibly hard and is great above his head, he plays a bit further away from goal compared to Corey. Jones is probably better below his knees and has a better goal sense. I'd take Jones.

O'Keefe is better around the ground and has great hands, but Jones is better around the goals. O'Keefe just takes the points though because he has far better consistency.

Gotta go with the crowd and my own personal bias on this one, O'Keefe. Jones has the potential to kick more goals himself in a single game, but O'Keefe consistently works harder and pushes up the ground.

the two best current half-forwards in the game... whos better, or who would u take??

im bias of course, so i would take CoJo:thumbsu:

Since when are these the two best half-forwards in the game!??? Since Jones kicked 7 on the weekend? Pfft..

O'Keefe could make a claim, and is the superior player of the two, though there are several other players I would have on par with him and some of them would be better still.

Edited for accuracy.

I'd be very surprised if any of the 15 coaches other than Laidley chose Jones ahead of O'Keefe if they had to build a team.

Jones was better than O'Keefe last year.
There is no doubt O'Keefe has been better over their respective careers, but Jones went past him on respective 2007 form.

And they do play different roles - Jones plays much closer to goal and O'Keefe often leads long up the wing.

Both fantastic players, would like to know their career stats to compare.

I think Jones seems to kick more bags of goals as he probably plays closer to goals.

This type of player is something Carlton lack.

Career stats FWIW.

Jones: 9.6k, 3.9h, 4.2m, 1.3 goals, 2.7 tackles.

O'Keefe: 9.9k, 3.9h, 4.7m, 1.1 goals, 2.3 tackles.

As suspected O'keefe has slightly more possies and marks per game, where as Jones has slightly more goals per game. Unbelievably close stats wise.

O'Keefe is more consistent and better up the ground, but Corey Jones has more X-factor and better close to goal.

At thier best Jones > O'Keefe

Consistency O'Keefe >>> Jones

Overall O'Keefe Wins
