This is a massive beat up. Still, main fault rests on our media manager for not keeping tabs on our players.

Suspended sentence is the precedent (at the very worst). It’s just a bad look. The club wants to make sure it does everything right during this period

Suspended sentence is the precedent, but there is potentially sufficient cause to make him isolate pending a test for him and anyone that was part of the channel 7 interview crew. Which would hopefully be before Saturday but no guarantee.

When have the AFL ever followed their own precedent?

I won't be the slightest bit surprised if Ollie gets suspended out of this. The AFL will have been looking for a chance to set an example. They couldn't suspend 16 players at once when the Crows stuffed up, but you bet your arse they'll have no qualms about suspending one Port player.
They don't even have to suspend him just order him to isolate for 14 days.. same deal but they'll prefer the wording.

True.

Either way, he has been told not to come to training today. He cant therefore be selected this week. Wouldn't be surprised if he was banned for a week then. TBH, say what you want about the protocols and how petty things are etc, but rules are rules and the players knew them. He has breached. He really is not very smart. No one will be more fkd off about this than senione club officials.

Is he trying to get himself traded?

Is the AFL seriously trying to tell us the risk is the same in a State that has recorded just two positive COVID-19 tests in 49 days as it is in a State that has recorded over 320 in the same time span?

Once again the AFL is tainted by it's attempts not to upset the Victorian clubs. It is clearly a case of the pampered Victorians sooking, 'we can't do it so why should they'?

What a bunch of asshoes the AFL are.

So what are the AFL rules? Are players allowed to go to shops? Are players allowed to have family and friends who do not live with them come to their house or vice versa? Was it okay for Harley Bennell to be filmed hugging people when told he was selected to play this weekend?
The rules through this whole thing have basically been made up on the fly. So the AFL will be no different here, and will just make some shit up that does not have any base in anything else that is happened. Pretty much like the tribunal. So expect anything from no comment to life in prison.

Protocols are absolutely clear. What is not - is the punishment for breaches.

Of course not. If the AFL actually prescribed what the punishment would be for breaches, how could they then manipulate the system to end up with whatever result they wanted later on?

Seriously..the next hub should surely be in SA

So a Crows Ambassador in the media can doorstop interview a Port player at his home during covid restrictions, two days out from a Showdown?

Who the **** is running our media dept?

You do realise that most of Port's admin have been stood down?

Oh Heck let's just blame this stuff up on Ken and KT as well!

Or maybe, just maybe, the club and its supporters have a right to expect 25 year old highly paid adults to do what they are fricken told and take responsibility for their own actions?

**** me, you've gotta be kidding. He's been told not to come to training. Far out. Grow some spine Port. At worst it is a incredibly minor mistake. Back our guy in and get him playing this week. Don't abandon him.

*Edit: I now understand he only isn't at training to wait for test results. But the rest still stands, we need to come out tougher and play this down as the very minor thing it was.
