68,000 tests in 2 days in Qld, probably 60k of those tests in SE Qld which has a population of 3.6m. So 1 in 60 being tested is impressive.

Dam I was hoping to win the role of the mutant called the blob in the next X-Men installment. Is it true? Can COVID-19 vaccines alter my DNA?
No, COVID-19 vaccines do not alter your DNA. Find out more below.www.health.gov.au
The poo will really hit the fan when those who have received their first dose turn up 12 weeks later along with those who are lining up for their first dose.
It would be smart if they partition injection sites into first dose only and second dose only. It is a dilution of sorts, but worth doing.
I hope there is some available data for effectiveness of the 2nd dose, even up to 24 weeks out from the first dose.
Anyone who believed there would be a straight line ascent to total vaccination of those desiring it, was living in a dream world. Of course there will be a lag time in the process before things progress more rapidly.

That's why mass vaccination centres make sense. You go to centre A if you are getting your first shot and go to centre B if you are getting your second shot. It keeps the admin simpler.Good point the situation is not going to get any less complicated. Given the confusion surrounding the first jab roll out who knows what will happen if the current system has to manage first and second jabs simultaneously.
As to things progressing more rapidly I don't know why the Government doesn't just hand the whole process over to the States? They have managed to do just that with the Hotel Quarantine process, contract tracing and lock downs so why not vaccination as well? The States could be supplied vaccine direct from CSL on the basis of target population and on a regular basis. GP's could then request supplies through the State Health system on the basis of bookings. As it is we have a total confusion of Commonwealth and State programmes and a failure to communicate.
Maybe getting the country vaccinated by October 31st was supposed to be a vote catcher for Scott Morrison and the Coalition? If that was the case it has all the hallmarks of giant failure atm.
Nope, totally differentas dodgy as drive thru for an up the nose covid test.
How exactly?Nope, totally different
The COVID tests don't have side affects that the person receiving it needs to be monitored for afterwards. How exactly?
You need to hang around for at least 15 mins after the jab in case you have an anyphylactic reaction. How exactly?
And you can't assign an area for cars to park and wait and personnel who all they do is check people after their 15 minute wait? It's all just basic logistics. You need to hang around for at least 15 mins after the jab in case you have an anyphylactic reaction.
Harder to keep an eye on people in cars rather than in chairs.
Then if an epipen is needed, harder/ slower to access patient in car and to observe if they improve.
The swab on the other hand, is just a swab.
You can't see people who are sitting in cars. So you need someone that is observing only a couple of cars, so it starts becoming impractical logisitics because of the numbers of people needed and the number of parking spaces needed. And you can't assign an area for cars to park and wait and personnel who all they do is check people after their 15 minute wait? So you can't come up with solutions just probems?? Have a look at what they do at Dodger stadium, they manage. You can't see people who are sitting in cars. Fair enough.Spurrier and Marshall seem rather risk averse so I guess we shall see.So you can't come up with solutions just probems?? Have a look at what they do at Dodger stadium, they manage.

He shouldn't say a word about vaccinations. We should be at over 4 million vaccinated today. Scomo is king of announcements though. At the current vaccination rate it should be about a week before we see ScoMo trumpeting the fact that Australia has just administered it's 1,000,000th jab.
Hardly surprising.Blood clot detected in 44 year old Melbourne man after AstraZeneca shot. We have to assume that he is a front line worker.
Blood-clotting case in AstraZeneca vaccine recipient being taken 'very seriously'
Australia's Acting Chief Medical Officer Michael Kidd confirms authorities are investigating a "probable" case of a rare clotting disorder in an Australian man who received the AstraZeneca vaccine.www.abc.net.au
