Just as important are numbers regarding deaths due to poor medical methodologies and deaths with Covid vs deaths from Covid. Italy has just drastically downshifted its numbers on that latter metric.

When you throw those aggregate numbers around be mindful of the Ioaniddes study finding a global IFR of .15%. I previously noted the IFR as <1% to accomodate localised variations.
You do realise that there's been millions more deaths from covid than what is stated right?

Maybe don't label anyone?

Every single human does something some else will think is stupid. Judgement is creating the divide currently. This forum is a perfect snapshot of society,
I dunno it seems every one on here labels other

Well if he is vaxxed himself it is bold to assume he is ignoring all the good? Hey backtozero why did you do something to yourself that isn't at all good? No good whatsoever?
I never said he's ignored all the good. That's an over the top interpretation

Efficacy measured against any vac
cine in which people don't end up dying of said disease despite being vaccinated.

This is bordering on nirvana fallacy — “the vaccine isn’t perfect at preventing infections and deaths, therefore…”

The statistics show that while breakthrough infections can happen, if you’re fully-vaccinated you’re magnitudes less likely to be infected and almost certainly won’t end up in the ICU or worse.

That is an overwhelming net positive measured against any perceivable metric.

Or against any vaccine which you're given as a child and only need once in your entire life or maybe periodically over the span of several years or even decades.

Which would be all of them, except for the flu vaccine.

Well, we’ve truly established boosters are your bugbear, but this just doesn’t reflect reality.

Pregnant women and those close to them are recommended to have a pertussis vaccine with every pregnancy, regardless of timeframe, etc.

Most healthcare providers will give you a tetanus jab each time you present with a nasty cut, even if you’ve had one relatively recently.

Pneumococcal pneumonia vax is given every so many years, and so on.

You just mentioned the polio vax as being an unfair comparison but for some reason used it as a talking point several times in the past.

Because it’s the holy grail in your war against boosters. The likes of polio and measles only exist in humans — so the vaccines against them are exceedingly effective.

Flu (birds, pigs) and COVID (many mammals), have many wild reservoirs, and thus mutate and come back around more readily, making vaccines against them less effective.

Myocarditis, pericarditis. Mrna vaccines suspended for use in children in the Nordic countries and now Taiwan. Enough adverse events that they decided the risks outweigh the benefits.

As noted above, Japan scotched the HPV vaccine because of a lone study in mice. One outlier does not a consensus or invalidation make.

VAERS reporting is freely available.

The same VAERS that anyone can submit to, those submissions aren’t verified before registration, and as a result, logs adverse reactions such as “turned me into the Incredible Hulk” and “gunshot wound”.

In ways they won't because of powerful economic interests. Think about why obesity and Type 2 diabetes are so prevalent? This about things that might systemically reduce the incidence of these social endemic conditions. If authorities really cared about public health they would act in these directions due to the impact of those actual conditions. Covid19 should be the nail in the coffin of a whole range of socially destructive 'norms'.

Clustering the aged into for-profit, cost rationalised enclaves won't stop either.

To put it metaphorically, people are being sold a vaccine on the promise and expectation of resuming their routine heroin habits.

Woah a great wall of words that don't even answer the question. Why don't you post from your non-alias account instead

Good responses

Because of it ultimately being something that should be one and done. Be f’ed if I'm getting boosters every 6 months.

Why do you even have this expectation? It is what it is. Maybe future iterations will be longer lasting, maybe they won’t.

I’m not filling up my car because I want it travel forever on one tank. Yeah, well it won’t, so too bad.

The vaccine being good but not as good as we would like it to be is really not at all a good reason to not get vaccinated.

There's basically only 2 reasons why someone would choose not to get vaccinated:

1) They genuinely believe the vaccine will negatively affect their health.

2) They just don't like being told what to do and use various pseudo scientific arguments to support their position.

I have more empathy for category 1. Even though I think they're misguided, if they genuinely do believe what they have read to be true, you can see why they take the position they do. Category 2 are just self defeating w***ers who are actually actively working against their own freedom agenda by contributing to spread, illness and death and in turn green lighting the continuation of government overreach.

As with most of the pandemic mitigation measures, it’s a massive pain in the arse.

Hopefully once the long-term data come in — not the spooky ‘you’ll drop dead in 2023!’ kind — it’ll expand out to a minimum of once-a-year a la the flu shot.

That’s assuming a random South African obstetrician doesn’t come home with a wet sail to win the Nobel Prize and have us all scoffing Ivermectin, obviously.
