The image was a comment on the insular clerics in this thread and their intolerance of divergent views. It was actually triggered by you Festerz. I watched you with interest when Wallumi entered. You thought you were the big swinging intellectual dick of the thread. And then you were repeatedly owned and your ego suffered. You’re retreated for a time, but then when the tide turned you re-entered the fray. Your use of language was curious - after accusing Wallumi of highjacking the thread you started appealing to the collective and talking about “us all” - your insecurity writ large as you rallied the mob against the outsider. And then, and after the job was almost done, you went the path of virtual death and proudly shared how you had nobly silenced your protagonist through the use of ignore. So, to the extent you are disturbed, it may be because of what the image says about yourself.

Should we create a covid sub forum within BDC so people have to click twice?

can we create a sub sub forum when the boosters come in so it's one click for each jab?

Sorry to go all Hanson on you but...please explain? I mean the west creating a monster bit.
We put all our eggs in the China manufacturing basket, then allowing them to buy so much of the western world debt and land. We’re really all ****ed then are an economic and military power

Long Covid continues to rear its ugly head.

Everyone looking at death rates in Australia and saying meh, especially those of us who are relatively young and healthy but
there are a couple of examples here of people ill months after being cleared of covid diagnosis.

First woman was declared covid free last March…but spent 10 months in bed..scans now show she has scarring on her heart.
Doctors starting to suspect that this is a disease that can result in very long term consequences, even years with organ damage, lung scarring.
More pressures on health system going forward and serious life impacts.

Also 24 year old Adelaide nurse, Sarah, caught covid19 on her flight home after working in London, young fit healthy now has long term symptoms, breathlessness.

Of course the comments under the video are from anti vaxers blaming the vaccine 🙄 even though it is not known if either had a vaccine as they got Covid last year.

I’m not trying to lightening the impact, but other bugs like the flu can also create longer term effects. Took me 4 months to get over one years ago.

It's as if any other virus has never taken longer than the main symptoms to get over.

Just keep in mind that no vaccinated NBA, NFL or WNBA player has suffered complications from the vaccine yet — some high-profile cases of suffering badly with COVID, though.

• Ryquell Armstead (season ended after he was hospitalised twice):

• Jayson Tatum (NBA — having to use an inhaler for the first time):

• Tommy Sweeney (NFL — season ended by myocarditis caused by the virus):

• Asia Durr (WNBA — former #2 pick has missed two seasons with long COVID and is currently a free agent after being cut by her team):

Granted these four (among others) are fat and old…

Dunno about outside the NBA but Brandon Goodwin now has no NBA career from vaccine complications. Blood clots in his back he reckons.
And I'd argue use of an inhaler post certain viral infections is common in the NBA but sensationalized during covid:
Jayson Tatum said he no longer needs to use an inhaler after having COVID. He said he didn't use it over the summer with Team USA.

Anyway, if actually well known did have vaccine complications Adam Silver and co are the last sports league I would expect any honesty out of. I couldn't give a toss like anyone else if any of them don't want it, there's no risk to the the other players.

South Australian authorities will today release detailed plans for quarantine and other measures that will be in place after the state’s borders open next week.
The state is planning to loosen travel restrictions and other measures on November 23.

While the state’s transition committee released its initial plans late last month, it promised more detail – that information, the rules for how the state will ‘live with COVID’, will be released this morning. On November 23, border restrictions will be eased, with people who are fully COVID-vaccinated able to enter SA from all states and territories.

However, under the original plans, people will still need to quarantine if they are travelling from local government areas where there is community transmission and less than 80 per cent of the population is fully-vaccinated. Chief Public Health Officer Nicola Spurrier yesterday urged South Australians to get vaccinated. “With our borders set to open in just over a week, it is more critical than ever to be vaccinated against COVID-19,” Spurrier said.

“Getting vaccinated against COVID-19 is the best way to protect you, your loved ones and the community and the benefits far outweigh any of the potential very rare side effects.” The November 23 date was chosen because it was predicted the state would reach its 80 per cent vaccination target by then.

NRL: There are still 15 players around the competition holding out on being double jabbed, according to News Corp. That includes some on massive salaries, like the Cowboys’ Jason Taumalolo ($1 million) Storm’s Nelson-Asofa Solomona ($675,000) and Raiders’ Josh Papalii ($660,000).

This is true.

The concern here is what long covid is doing to the brain.

Chronic conditions all put the healthcare system at further stress so to have another condition that will require extra ongoing funding etc doesn't help.

It’s a possibility, but the blood clots associated with the J&J vaccine (same as Astra-Zeneca) usually present in the brain and abdomen, not the back.

He hasn’t revealed his medical records and since walked back his claims when challenged (“maybe it was the vaccine, maybe it was COVID”), among flip-flops so it’s up in the air.

Notably, NBA players have an increased risk of clots due to the insane amount of air travel they do, and their (paradoxically) healthier hearts. Chris Bosh was forced into early retirement after multiple bouts of clots five years ago.

Again, in the case of Goodwin: maybe. Maybe not.

Okay, but we’re specifically talking about a 23 year old world class athlete in peak condition here — those who scoff at pandemic mitigation measures keep telling us that the young and healthy are safe, or don’t need a vaccine, etc.

You don’t think if an active player did develop a confirmed case of a severe vaccine side effect it wouldn’t be out there as news? A little hard to hide with the NBA community’s penchant for social media, no?

Why are we being so much more "careful"?
1. A state election
2. Our hospitals are underfunded, because new stadiums are more important

Don't bullshit us with other reasons.

Bizarre considering the criticism Anastasia gets by the Murdoch press ...🤔

Who would of thought a liberal government would be more conservative re covid than a labor government

Despite the small drop Dan Andrews is in a similar leading position as to what he was when he won the 2018 election in a landslide against Matthew Guy

Liberals will be lucky to win 7 seats in Victoria. The Murdoch press have barely made a ripple in this state, despite the lockdowns and the hysterical whinging by LNP over Victoria's future pandemic bill which is more transparent than nsw
