Yep. Seen it way too many times at all levels.

I regret a lot of things I said when sledging as I used to get very fired up. (heaps of warnings but never suspended)

I was never racist to other players though. However it was pretty rife when I played.

Here’s a LOL.

on field ump gave smith not out but a review was requested. DRS Ball Tracking showed that the ball would have clipped leg stump but just so umpires decision stood. Not out.

but check the leg stump they had it hitting. That’s a fourth stump!

It's worse online but I have seen and witnessed outright and normalised racism at every club I've played with, and many I've played against. I stood up against it at every opportunity but all that I got from that was ostracisation.

It's a massive cultural problem that a few slogans on TV won't fix.
Definitely more of a problem at the local level in my personal experience. Usually an older core group of mates that usually participate in it, while the rest either tell them to knock it off or block it out as they don’t want to deal with the drama. Mostly anti-Indian for whatever reason.

Rugby league was the worst sport for racism in the Newcastle region.

In saying that, my experience was that an incident happened, at most, twice a season. I suppose that changes dependent on the location and demographics. Younger teams that I have played with or against were really good at calling the crap out.

Indian spectator Rishi Aryan, who was seated in the same bay, told The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age on Sunday: “All these boys were doing is a bit of sledging of the player on the outfield. First it was Bumrah then they had a sledge against Siraj. They kept calling him Shiraz and all that crap. Next thing you know they said: ‘Welcome to Sydney, Siraj’ and then he got the shits. That was literally it. Then he walked off.

Was that today or yesterday's incident?

Today's.

I was expecting far worse judging by his initial reaction.

Yesterday's for context:

The Times of India reported team sources saying Siraj and Bumrah had been called "monkeys, w***er and motherf-----" by drunk spectators.

Peter Lalor also mentioned some specifics in regards to comments made to Siraj about his Muslim heritage and the number of wives he possessed.

Yea that actually sounds a bit more around acceptable shit talking. Like, you'd take the piss out of anyone's name, not specifically aimed at their race and such.

I don't tolerate racism but when an Indian supporter calls it out as bullshit then we have a problem.

No doubt someone has posted this already but love the look of Green looks like the test arena is made for him.

It's always been harder to get out of the side than in to the side.

I'd play Maxwell until a kid jumps out. He gives us a part time spinner, the potential of a match changing batsman, and is worth 20+ runs in the field. He'd certainly match Wade's average of 30 odd.
I don’t think Maxi “plays the game” and I don’t mean out in the middle. Has never been given the chances others have. He’s a ridiculous cricketer. Should be in the side IMO

The way that Cricket Australia set the season up he has almost no chance of pushing his claims in long-form cricket. He is 32 years old and has only played67 FC matches. His last FC match was in October 2019.

How good is punter to listen to.....really amazing technical understanding of batting, obviously, but his ability to describe it and what went wrong or whatever is sensational.
I can listen to him and watch Isa all day...😉

He's on Langer's shit list.

That impostor should have been moved on a while ago.
