I watched the first half of the Legs Bloods game on TV after I got home from footy and pretty much agree with what Macca19 said although wouldn't rate Kite that highly, but he must have picked up in the second half.

For those thinking of Young's game, picture when Nathan Basset or Nigel Smart used to play on Alistair Lynch and just get destroyed due to his strength. That's basically what Willits did to Young in the first half.

Norwood are playing like Port have over the past couple years. Some big recruits not performing anywhere near where they should.

Westies are playing some good footy. Theyve got a real good small brigade, they just need another couple of consistent talls and they'd push the finals.

They simply will not play for the coach in charge any more, its so bloody obvious.

Kite was very good, one of Norwood's best. 20 disposals, 5 tackles, and other than the ood poor disposal early his use of the ball was good.

Young was quite good too, not sure what's with a few of the comments above. Willits spent what, 4 years on an AFL list? About 100kg, of course he's going to beat Young. But Young did beat him a few times and most of the marks Willits took there wasn't much Young could have done. Promisingly, he was always right by him making it as hard as possible for him to take the grab. And he only kicked 1 goal on Young, the other was opposed to Stopp. Young provided a bit of rebound and definitely showed some good signs, he's going to be a very good player for the AFC.

From what I saw on TV I'd have to agree re: Young. He's probably 15kg lighter than Willits and had no chance in one on one contests but other than that competed really hard and never gave up. Always looked really annoyed when he was beaten too which was a good sign that he has a determined nature. His disposal was neat and he linked up with Kite a few times which was nice. Kite was good, wasn't afraid to get stuck in and had some good moments.

Wasn't criticsising per se Drumm, hell Smart and Basset were All Australians! I was just describing that Young was beaten by a much stronger and larger opponent. It happens!

stats from the sanfl

Davis - 17 poss, 3 marks
Armstrong - 19 poss, 1 goal
Sloane - 15 poss
Petrenko -13 poss, 1 goal
Sellar - 12 poss, 4 marks, 1 goal
Mckernan 13 poss,2 marks, 18 hit outs
Cook -17 poss, 1 goal
Henderson- 16 poss, 8 marks, 1 goal

From what i heard on radio Henderson was in sensational touch for the dogs early in the first quarter and then had the ball kicked into his face which resulted in him leaving the field for the remainder of the first quarter. Apparently he came back on and according to dogs supporters was pretty good.

So looks as if everyone was solid without anyone being outstanding. Perhaps a tad disappointing from Petrenko and Sellar. Henderson for me would again be the statistical stand out:thumbsu:

Petrenko didn't do a great deal. Played forward in the first half and kicked a classy goal from 45m in the pocket. Looked sick when they came out after half time - not sure what the story was. He ended up tagging Backwell in the last half. Had no influence on the game.

Sellar was ok. Took some strong marks, but stuffed up the kicks for goal. His one goal was from a soft free that was never there. It is really hard to see him ever making AFL level.

Was at Noarlunga again. Will try not to say anything too negative about any Crows listed players as sadly it seems to upset some of the locals on this board if you do, as it is deemed lies and trolling.
So, Henderson, did not even realise he was Crows listed. Started strong, took some good contested grabs, and then yes, got a huge ball in the face and went off.
Mckernan was pretty good today, is a pretty good user of the ball by foot actually, and rucked okay against a couple of bigger bodies. A few frees given out of ruck contests, but for reasons sometimes best known only to the man in white.
Cook, very in and out of the game, butchered the ball a few times. Will need to raise the bar I think to get back into Crows contention.

Two questions, a) did you think having a sulk would endear yourself to us and b) is that really how you would construe saying nothing negative?

Most posters will appreciate any contribution, the smart way is to ignore the loud minority and just be confident in your opinions:thumbsu:

So, Henderson, did not even realise he was Crows listed.

Basketball player, was spotted at the NBL talent camp and somehow word got back to us. He played in the camp all stars team, but never got an NBL contract. We found out he played football as a young lad but went with basketball when he had to make a choice about 5 years before, got him to sign up for his local club. First game, he went out and carved them to bits and kicked something like 8 goals in the first half. Yanked him off the ground before anyone with any sense or connections noticed, asked him not to touch a ball again that year, and managed to snatch him as a rookie at the last draft, to the surprise of absolutely everyone.

Described as being someone who would have gone top 10, had he been playing football those years instead of basketball, currently a project player to make up for those missing years of skills as fast as possible.

Who said this?

Manureid, feel free to post whatever you saw. Some people might call you out for trolling but I wouldn't let that bother you ;) I appreciate any info you had.

HHHEEEENNNNNNNDDDOOOOOO :eek::eek::eek::eek: I love that he's doing so well. He's basically gone from not playing football for four years to playing very good league footy, in half a season, how awesome is that? He's got to be coming close to shading Brodie Martin in terms of the rookie most likely to be upgraded.

NTRabbit - it was 7 goals, and I love that story :o Top 10 I'm not so sure of but second round sounds more likely to me. Certainly his ability to get back into it and play well in a very good league has been remarkeble, especially considering he reckons he's not AFL fit yet.

I thought Sellar showed some really good signs today, especially in the ruck. Without Dabrowski, it was always going to be a good day out against Miles and 19 year old Stuart Hill. At the stoppages around the ground Sellar worked body position well and seemed to anticipate the throw in locations. He won the majority against Hill and worked well after the stoppage applying pressure to the Eagles players who were reading his taps fairly well.

He started the start of each quarter in the first half, forward. Cranston would go to the bench and Sellar would ruck, then he would come off at the 20 minute mark. Glenelg had plenty of forward options with Grima on fire and Kirkby presenting well. Sellar worked into some opportiunities though, pushed a defender under the ball well in the 2nd term but was unable to captialise on a difficult snap. Took a big aerial mark a few minutes later. Missed a kickable goal in the 2nd term.

I thought his workrate was excellent compared to what I saw earlier in the season, pushed into space on build up and really pressured the ball carriers with smothering attempts and chasing. His set shot goal looked fluid and much improved from that of 2 years ago or even last year to be honest.

Seems like a real confidence player. When his tail is up looks like a totally different player. Glenelg seemed to take control of the game when he was in the ruck (and I rate Cranston's importance to the team highly). Ken McGregor playing on him is a huge wrap by Ron Fuller on Sellar's recent form.

P.S. Manureid - thanks again for the updates. Very much appreciated from this end.

Having a sulk you say....exactly the sort of tripe that I expected tbh.

And am happy to post views for the people that do appreciate some reports on players, the same as I do when some of you guys give good reports (positive and negative) on Port players on the Power board.

Thanks anyway! :thumbsu:

One person disagreed with your analysis, you've now had a total of 3 posts on this board and 4 on the port board whining about it.

My definition of sulking i'm afraid.

Down at the Antartic, I mean Noarlunga, today (it may have been 17, but it felt more like 7 down there).

Henderson was brilliant. Kicked the first goal for Centrals today, into the teeth of a very stong breeze. Was always in the contest, took a couple of great marks. One of Centrals best, and a very strong chance of getting the SANFL Rising Star nomination this week IMO.

Oh yes, forgot he was eligible for that! Very good chance. :thumbsu:

Stalker and clown, stick em on your resume

Come on Bruce, was not that cold mate.....haha...I have felt worse down there before, at least the sun was out!

7 goals and third game rather than first as it turns out, but the rest of what I said is spot on.

Armstrong: had a good chance but after that was ordinary.

Sloane: love his attack on the footy, it's fantastic to see.

Hendo could win the SANFL Star Search but it really doesn't mean as much as it does in the AFL, Glenelg dropped a kid the week after he won the award.
