Can anyone confirm for me whether or not McLeod, McGregor and Riccuito got the plane over?

Will they lineup?

I would assume all 3 players have travelled to Melbourne to keep that element of doubt in St Kilda mind.

Channel 7 said on a news break that there will be one late change but did not say who was out, they sort of implied that it was Ricciuto (they said an Adelaide Crows super star player will drop out of tonight game).

Not sure what that implies or who it is about but John Meesen may get his first game as Skipworth and Vince are both named for the WWT Eagles

It’s not uncommon for one of the emergencies to fly to Melbourne with the side. Chris Knights flew to Melbourne for the Richmond game and then flew back to Adelaide to play for the Eagles in the SANFL the morning of the match.

John Meesen would have flown to Melbourne with the side as a travelling emergency and if he wasn’t needed to play could have flown back in the morning as Norwood don’t play until Saturday night.

To be honest although it will be great to see The Meese make his long awaited debut for the Crows, it will be disappointing not seeing him out there for the Legs. I’ve enjoyed seeing him develop into a quality player for Norwood and he’s one of the main reasons I bother going to see our rabble anymore.

But if he is playing for the Crows it is a great opportunity for him and he deserves a shot. Rewarding his efforts will go a long way towards ensuring he stays in Adelaide in the future.

The time come in all parents life to let there child grow up and defend for themselves, it’s your and little Johnny (figuratively speaking of course) turn now.:D

I know it is going to be difficult but keep that stiff upper lip and be a proud football parent. I am sure Neil and Roo will look after him and before you know it you will be watching him at the parade again.:thumbsu:

Baby steps.

Very good. :D

I wonder what the Doc is thinking with all these talented youngsters coming into the side. I wonder if he'll get the pen and paper out to take notes on how the Meese excels around the ground. ;)

On the 5AA Channel 10 advert for the news they said stated that a key Saint was out injured?

Injured - Vince to come in I think.
Good luck to Bernie, he has a very bright future with the club.:thumbsu:

Very impressive for a first year player.

You're joking? Why would they bring in Vince, he's done nothing over recent weeks.

A mid field small forward runner to cover another mid field small forward runner, basic common sense.

If they brought John Meesen in for Brett Burton we would be top heavy and risk the chance that the system would suffer for it.

Luke Ball?

Fact or Fiction Drummond

Just because you didnt think he was worth a third round pick, doesnt mean you cant apply common sense and admit that Vince is a good pickup and deserves a shot. He has been in the eagles best atleast a couple of times in the last month, and has shown more form than Meesen, and is similar player to Burton if he is the one to drop out.

Apart from an average game on the weekend he has been fairly good over the past month. Good luck to Bernie, although I am a bit upset I won't get to see him in action for the mighty Eags tomorrow, wearing the old West Torrens jumper...

No offence to Hayden Skipworth but I would pick Bernie Vince as a half forward flanker every day of the week.

He is worth a 3rd round pick; I was very critical on draft day but have changed my tune now.

I haven't changed my tune, he's done nothing of worth in his 3 AFL games, and although he looked good in a few NAB Cup outings, I'm not sold.

Yeah we definitely should have got Sam Elliott with that pick...

Nothing of worth? Not knocking Chris Knights but Bernie has shown better touch, composure, and ability to do the freaky in his 3 games in his first year than Knighter has in his time at the club, yet you think he should be playing every game at AFL level, despite showing little sofar in his 9 games of League footy.

Knights dominated for the Eagles last season, virtually collecting 25+ possessions in every game. Not a bad effort for a 19 year old in their first season of SANFL. Knights was taken with pick 56, as opposed to Vince who was taken with 32, and it’s important to keep giving Knights games because we need to have players ready to eventually replace our current midfield group. You build up Vince like he's already a superstar, but he's averaged just over 7 possessions per game, nothing to write home about really. Oh and FWIW, Elliot will be the best of the three. :)

Bugger. I was hoping to pick up the no.17 jumper in the auction, being Lindsay Head's number on the famous gold Eagle on the chest guernsey.
