I haven't really seen that, though I'll admit I've missed most threads from the last week so perhaps it was then. What I've seen from people is that they like Shaw, but that he's not reliable. If we base our structure around him and he goes down (like he always inevitably does), we're in trouble.
That's just a pessimistic POV .......Kane Johnston was as bad early in his career, and the club worked out how to manage Kane, so IMO Shaw will get better with his body

Can't see him hitting his head with out the bump

That's not how the rule is written. You're not allowed to make contact with the head - and if you do, and an injury occurs, you're in trouble.

If you make contact with the body but not the head, and then the players bumps his head, you're generally fine.

In any event, I think you've had your say. Move on please.

Crouch's first half must give him already a big chance for the Rising Star nomination this week.
Loved it when he just ran into a GWS player when Matt had the ball and just bounced of him and kept going.

I don't think he deserves a week. Just my worry that he will get one. Mostly because I've given up trusting in logic from the MRP.
He's safe

Johnson and Shaw are in different leagues in terms of talent, and Shaw has been considerably more prone to injury than Johnson was. Also, as you said yourself, we don't have anyone else like him. It's one thing to lose a midfielder or a flanker, there are others who can move into that spot and you only lose the differential in talent, but we don't have a natural replacement for Shaw. We need to develop one quick-smart because as much as I like Shaw, he's not a smart long-term bet.

Didn't panic did he when the body approached ...took the bump and stayed composed

For an 18 year old in his first half doz games that's a huge plus in seeing whether you have a good one or not :thumbsu:

Loving the look of M Crouch, a good second half and he must surely get the RSN...

Reads the play like a true footballer, some of his movements look Thommo-esque indeed...

Tex at half time :hearts:

It's not worth your time...he just picks random name and says they were worse then Shaw, it's always stupid.

IMO Shaw has more strings to his bow talent wise than Kane did ......and i think time sees people forget how much problems sugar had with his hamstrings

TWT who's right .......but i'll back Shaw in as i have since first seeing the kid

Fyfe made contact to the head there, though.

I hate to agree with the idiot from the swamp posting earlier, but the bump caused the concussion.

Some of the stuff players get rubbed out for is disgraceful. this will be one of them.

I'll be delighted to be wrong though.

Ward subbed with concussion! Douglass definitely in trouble there 2 weeks at least!

P""s off, just a bump. No head contact. In play.
Carrying on like a soccer player.
Maybe Ward has a Tippex jaw.

I'm not interested in how many strings Shaw has - he's not even close to Johnson in terms of talent.

Being able to do a lot of things well is not as important as being able to do a few crucial things very well.
