Crysis or Far Cry 2

Which game is most worth getting?

I would probably say Crysis, if your PC can play it.
I have Far Cry 2, and apart from making me feel sick, it is really repetitive and almost GTAIV-like in the way that you have to drive forever to do and complete missions.

People always talk about Crysis' graphics, but underneath all of that is a good game.

Far Cry 2 is a better game overall. The first half of Crysis is great, but the 2nd is pretty average.

I think you'd get more time out of FC2... it's more sandbox style Gameplay, yeah you do need tor drive around a bit, but its totally non-linear and there is plenty to explore and do. I prefer it over Crysis.

Havnt played Far Cry 2 yet but loved Far Cry 1. Im the same as Magnum, Crysis first half of the game is really good but the alien bit was pretty poor.

So comparing it to Far Cry 1, id take Far Cry. And you would hope Far Cry 2 is better than 1.

I loved Crysis until you get to the alien bit (trying not to give away spoilers)

It definitely feels a lot more polished. The story, whilst some dislike, is well done and has good voice acting.

The Far Cry 2 story, on the other hand, feels like it's been quickly thrown together. The voice acting is done very poorly. It's all at a hundred miles a minute. To throw in an obscure Simpsons reference, remember the episode where Lisa makes the Lisa Lionheart doll and she's in the recording studio where Krusty comes in, records his lines, and leaves in about 5 seconds. That's what the Far Cry 2 voice acting sounds like.

Far Cry 2 is also visually inferior. I had heard great things about its graphics but was let down on the highest settings when compared to Crysis on even medium. Far Cry 2 does have a cool fire effect but it goes away so quickly and doesn't really leave much lasting damage. It's also a very dark game WITHOUT A FLASHLIGHT! I had to turn up the brightness to an unrealistic level just so I could see in front of me.

Far Cry 2 is pretty cool for thefirst like 15-20 percent. the remainder of the game is just repeating that over and over again, and the ending is one of the most anti-climatic in recent memory.

Crysis was extremely, extremely pretty. But bad.

The comments so far a pretty spot on. The voice acting is very bad in FC2, but u get over it. The graphics are worse, still pretty though, especially the rolling day cycle is very good.

Crysis is 2 halves of a game. It's very pretty, but the game itself is over in about 10 hours (5 of them are great, and 5 of them are average)...and you really don't feel like playing it again. It is more the traditional shooter than FC2 aswell.

Far Cry 2, whilst repetitive somewhat, has better overall gameplay, and I think that's where it counts. Crysis has bits of greatness that are probably better than the best parts of FC2, but they are here and there.

I'd go FC2 as you'll get more out of it, especially with the map editor and mods which will undoubtably be created to expand the game by the community.
