Hey guys we are thinking about appointing a spec mod to look after the cycling board.

The criteria are along the lines of:

1. An experienced poster who is a board regular and knows their cycling.

2. Someone who is mature, sensible and not easily baited or drawn into arguments.

3. Someone who can help organise and can contribute ideas to improve the board.

If you think you meet the criteria or know someone who does then nominate yourself/them in this thread.

Cheers.

I'll put my hand up for the position.

I have been on this forum for a long time now so know how it generally operates. I'm a regular BigFooty contributor and love most sports because of the competitive edge, and cycling is no exception. Am online at least once a day and have a good knowledge on Australian cyclists; But I do lack a little bit of knowledge with regards to tracks and times, which I'm trying to come to grips with at the moment I must admit. Cheers.

I'd put my hand up but I'm guessing I haven't been here long enough?

Are you still thinking about adding a Spec Mod weevil? Would think with the Tour de France coming up in a few weeks, it may need a bit of looking after. With you and a few others becoming 'Super Mods' though, congratulations on that by the way, one of you would pop in every now and then.

We are a little concerned about the lack of enthusiasm towards the spec mod position.

GreaT SourcE is keen and is a good poster, but the admins are looking towards getting people who are a little older into the mod positions.

Other than that there has been very little enthusiasm.

The board is pretty quiet and we think that unless someone keen takes up the challenge it might end up getting merged back into the general sports board.

Sorry if that sounds like a threat, just think it is important to let everyone know where things are at.

I would/will enthusiastically throw my hat in the ring but not sure i'd be in the age bracket (19). I've watched/followed the GT's for the past 4 years and the enjoy every minute of it. Haven't been a major contributer in the past to this board but am finding my feet right now.

It would be sad to see this board somewhat disappear so i hope we can get someone on board.

Dont get me wrong Id love to do it - not sure if anyone would want me to thats all. Id rather have someone want me enough to nominate me for the position than blow my own trumpet as I am a terrible player

I read the board pretty much daily but dont post as often

Cruiser would make a great moderator. Regular poster and loves his sport. :thumbsu:

I reckon Cruiser is the best bet. I swear I have seen a mod/s around 19-20...could be wrong though. But age shouldn't discriminate if they show maturity and objectiveness. Cruiser has shown his enthusiasm towards the 'job', so he's a good bet.

More of a reader on the board, but check if every day/ every other day.

And I agree you will need one by the start of the TdF...normally get a few flogs posting after watching a 2 minute montage on Sports tonight

I know of a couple of mods that got the gig at a similar age....

I don't think its even necessary. Theres no trolling on this board or arguments (aside from me and blackcat and that never got out of hand). I reckon if the super mods and admins drop in from time to time thats enough.

Super mods, gotta love that title...

:D

Not a great deal of traffic goes through here so doesn't seem totally necessary. The board better stay around though, i'd be disappointed to see it go back to the general sports board.

That's superduper mods to you son. ;)

Blue Dimension has become a Spec mod on the cricket board, pretty sure he's younger than me.
