Would it be better for the Ammos to do the D4 fixture after, say, first 5 rounds and have it so the lower sides play each other more often. After 5 rounds you would have a pretty good idea who is struggling and who is competitive. The benefit would be closer games (less 200 point drubbings). Shouldn't be too hard to accommodate clubs who want to schedule social functions for particular dates. This format would be unique to D4 where relegation is not possible.

I was thinking about this the other day, if they were going to do a fixture they should do it after everyone has played each other once though. Not sure how many times everyone plays everyone this year, but at Manningham we play Chaddy twice, no offence to Chaddy but you'd imagine we'd win well both times, bit unfair on someone else around our level like PC/North Brunswick if they only play them once.

By far the 3 oddest things i have ever seen in D4 include:
WB reserves losing the grandfinal last season and WB seniors winning over Hawthorn (both losers were dominant undefeated ladder leaders)
AND
NB beating hawthorn by 10 goals in that final when Hawthorn finished on top and smashed them by over 100 that season

Anything can happen..

Most likely will

I just. looked at the ammos sitel last night and there's seven divisions. another division would be ok

Will that ugly word that always appears in this sort of scenario, 'tanking' raise it's ugly head if they decide to 'grade' after the first 5 rounds.

I have only been involved in ammos for a few years but from memory this is the only year we have these type of score differences in multiple games. Are we panicking too early? Why not just let the season run and see what happens next year. 4 of these clubs are in Div 4 for the first time (albeit Mt Lilydale & Sth Mornington have been previously), give them a chance to grow and build their teams

Why is everyone banging on about a great divide? Its existed for ages... 2011 St Francis (now struggling) finished 16-2, next 3 teams 13-5. South finished 5th 3 games outside of finals, then 6th was another 3games behind that, all the rest got smashed....
2012 South (now struggling as well) finished 16-2 along with Swinburne, Eley Park 3rd 15-3 and PC 4th on 12-5-1. 5th placed North Brunswick finished a massive 5 games outside of finals...
Chadstone did the D4 double in 2008 I tihnk it was and have only won a handful of games since. Apart from Northern Blues hitting their straps and coming from 6th to win (now in D2 and sitting in 4th I think), it has always been a tale of two halves of the ladder. This year will be no different.
If teams are young and stick together and they recruit well, that is how you can be successful, At South we had a bunch of blokes who played together for 10 years and I remember getting belted by 200 odd points in the 2's at La Trobe and 180 odd in the 1's in 2010, Other than maybe 6 or 7 different players, that was the same group that won the 2's flag in 2011 and the 1's flag in 2012. Had a mass exodus after we won the flag including myself stepping away, and now South are working their way back to being a strong, competitive side.

To everyone at parkside football club id like to say i hope you all get much more success and kick on from here..

I think this guy needs to learn the difference between there and their, it's a dead giveaway every time.

North Brunswick v Canterbury. Conditions just might suit the home team.
Box Hill North v Sth Mornington.
Mt Lilydale v Chadstone. The mountain men too good at home.
Point Cook v Manningham. Bulldogs too tough here.
Old Westbourne v Masala.
Parkside get a week off.

Can anyone confirm if it is a top 6 for finals this year? I'm pretty sure it is but looking for confirmation.
I can confirm.

1v6
2v5
3v4

Three winners and highest ranked loser play off in a preliminary final..
Grand final the week after

Dale Collins in some ripping form.

7,7,7,15

36 goals in 4 games isn't bad going.

One of those bags were against Canterbury too.

Results today were as expected with our game with Manningham another arm wrestle. Think the last 3 have been all under 10 points.
What happened in the reserves between Canterbury and Nth Brunny? Didn't see that coming.

Also keen to know the inside word on the cantebury vs north Brunswick ressies result, did half the side have a wedding or were nth brunny celebrating a milestone?? Not just an upset but a blowout..
