Had quite an interested conversation today with a few mates, each barracking for the respective players teams.

An arguement arose as to which player has more of a future and is a more prolific 'goal sneak'.

Dale Thomas - Labeled as Over Rated, Over Hyped. Hasn't displayed that same 'flare' that was on show a few years back. Still though continues to hog the lime light at Collingwood, with brief displays of brillance.

Eddie Betts - Arguably his best season to date, has really taken the role as 'second option' behind Fevola. An absolute freak infront of goals, and can leave opposition supporters clapping his class.

Robin Nahas
- An absolute enigma, his defensive pressure and tackling is one of the few highlights to Richmond's year. Has re invented the small role and have opposition coaches aware of the talent he possesses.

Eddie Betts i'd say. Hes just added to his game as a guy when needed he can have a run through the middle and get some clearances from using his extreme pace. I hope Nahas can grow into a similar player who is just as damaging around stoppages. All 3 of these blokes are exciting footballers when they are on song

Strange poll.

Thomas doesn't really fit the category of goal sneak. He has been shifted around a bit this year and obviously they have tried to involve him in more passages of play, rather than just being a finisher. He looked set to take a big step up at the start of the year, but without having watched too many Pies games he doesn't seem to have taken it.

Nothing arguable about Betts...clearly his best season. Seems to have worked hard on his fitness (which has always been a question mark) and can now present more often in attack, and apply more pressure when defending. His goal sense is as good as anyone playing the game, and has looked great when used in short bursts through the middle. The challenge now is to continue to build that engine, and spend more time in the middle like Davis.

Have only seen Nahas in a handful of games, but skillful, evasive, and seems equipped to play at the top level. Get's a fair bit of opportunity in the Richmond forward line, and would like to see how he goes at the feel of a KPF, and if he can run through the middle at all.

I'll give Betts the nod simply because he has come off a rookie list, and clearly improved with each passing season.

Thomas has obviously been a very high pick, started brightly enough and seems to have stalled. Questionable ROI for the Pies.

Simply too soon to tell with Nahas.

The best thing about Eddie Betts is when he doesn't have the ball, he chases, tackles, applies pressure and creates goals.

Thomas gets one or two great goals a year from the boundary.... if the Magpies are satisfied with that no wonder they have won one premiership in 50 years

whose the other guy??

Haha you absolute d***head:D

You clearly don't watch any collingwood games, or your mum doesn't let you as games usually finish after bed time- So you are in no position to make a call like that flog:thumbsd:

Nahas has a very bright future. Betts too, has had a top year... Daisy on the other hand has been particularly frustrating. I've had him on my dreamteam all year and watch him very closely. He seems to be 5 meters from every contest. I'm not sure whether it's a matter of being horribly out of form or to put it bluntly, soft.

i concurr with that post!!, i mean, im sure there is no doubt that daisy has the talent, and i believe he is SLIGHTLY over rated by some, he still is a decent player and i believe he has the ability to play better than how he is performing at the moment.
geez, when he is on fire,he is on fire!

Nahas on the other hand ,is the new kid on the block in terms of goalsneeks, and what an impression he is making, i certainly wouldnt mind him at the bombers.Has shown glimpses of brilliance and if he continues this form next year, richmond will win a few more games than they did this year,he is just sooo exciting whenever he gets the ball, something will happen.

Betts, well what can you say? - he scores goals, he creates goals and he provides great defensive inside 50 pressure. Having a good year and in terms of form this season and the position in which they are playing i would rate him first, nahas second, and daisy third, although from what ive seen, dale thomas has more talent and skill than nahas, although i havent seen much of nahas.

Haha, I can relate to that. I had him in my dream team and he seems to circle around contests and you are sure he will end up with it, but just doesn't happen. Not the type of player that will fetch many points in Dream Team so it's probably our fault for picking him.

No doubt he's an impact player and is very dangerous when in form. I've followed him closely being a Gippsland boy and I've never doubted his talent, just needs some consistency to go to the next level.

(Pies fans will prob agree when I say he needs minimize his media work)
