I wonder why neither GC nor Port preferred to deal with North. Their first pick next year should be a good one.

Yep, and lets be real Port are relatively okay paying a f1, some swaps here and there for Jack...and holding their 2 time AA to a contract and they can work with Dan over the next year or two. They will get more next year when teams can trade 2 years in advance.
Exactly how I hope it unfolds tbh.
4 way between North, Rich, GC and Port.
Port: Pick 6, Luko
Rich: Roos F1
GC: Rioli, Port F1
North: Houston, GC 13
And a few swaps of seconds back and forth.
Rich have a heap of firsts this year, a potential top 5 as well next year could be appealing.
GC get our F1 and Rioli.
Port get a good pick.
North get Houston and maintain pick 2.

Richmond will not trade pick 6 this year not a chance on earth of that happening. Would need way more than that to do it too.
Yea it'll come down to whether Port keep Houston or trade him to Pies.Exactly how I hope it unfolds tbh.
Don’t see it as much as them trading it but instead getting Norths F1 which could be a top 5 as well.
Needs a few seconds etc to balance out but on face value, seems pretty even across the board.
The difference is your pick 13 (which isn't 13 it is 17 plus with the bids) is not worth near a top 5 pick in next years draft and that's despite the perceived weaker draft, top 5 picks are still A quality.
GC would easily trade pick 6 for that North pick if it wasn't tied to the Rioli deal.
Key word there “could” be a top 5 pick. Teams get burnt so easily with this.
Port surely have woken up and realised let’s close shop on this and trade next year when teams have twice as many assets with future picks
Great to see you arguing against yourself on value of Norths F1Richmond will not trade pick 6 this year not a chance on earth of that happening. Would need way more than that to do it too.
North Melbourne have a massive handicap in all this: they are North Melbourne.
Taking too long folks...
Your F1 is for Lukosius. If this all falls apart and Houston stays, you're probably paying that for Lukosius.
Why bother, Ask for pick 3 from Blues.4 way between North, Rich, GC and Port.

3 for Houston + Port F1 sounds on the dot
Yea agree, I think GC come out way ahead in that trade with 2x salary dumps. I think any rejig of the 3 way trade will need them stumping up more to please PortThe mega trade wasn't making Luko cheaper, heck for whatever reason Port needed to take on Atkins salary
Why bother, Ask for pick 3 from Blues.
3 for Houston + Port F1 sounds on the dot.
Then offer 3 for Suns 6+Luko
Tigers will be forced to then trade for Rioli for 13+23
We now having access to the top 3 talent in this draft I would be livid if we used it as part of a deal for a 28 year old half back flanker. Why bother, Ask for pick 3 from Blues.

North lose: 2, 25, North F1
North gain: 6, 29, Houston

Port gain: 14, North F1, Lukosius
GC lose: 29, Lukosius
GC gain: 39, Port F1
Richmond lose: 6, 14
Richmond gain: 2, 25
Is Houston to the Pies for 6 years like Hopper and Taranto to the Tigers?
Terrible timing with a cliff rapidly approaching ?
Every chance Roos are above them in 2 or 3 years.
