Not Respecting dangers decision doesn't make you a bad person.
Indeed not. Didn't say that. There are multiple perspectives. I just personally appreciate those more who, where there is doubt take the compassionate angle, but I appreciate that's just my view.

The funny thing is my wife who knows very little about footy heard the speech as I was streaming it and came out and said
'It's his partner she wants to go and the women has the final say' followed by a whip cracking sound! Did mention starting a family wouldn't be surprised if mardi is pregnant

So people saying she's pregnant? Are people suggesting that she may have deliberately let one through to sway the decision?

The silly thing is, it's not until your kids are about 4 or 5 when it starts to become important where you are raising them.

Assuming she isn't up the duff yet but gets on a bit of crows champion celebration ( and wears the jacket doing the deed, I know I would) then it ain't coming out until mid next season.

He could sign on for 2 more then start making plans to move back "home" after its first birthday and the kid will live its life thinking it was born and raised in Moggs.

Seriously the first 2 years of your little sprogg's life is just getting through the day. You could be living in Wagga Wagga for all it matters.

No one said she was pregnant I just said he referenced starting a family a lot it would not surprise me. As dissapointed as I am to lose him I understand that family will come first. Lucky for port boats family told him to stay if he was happy at port and not come for them. Paddy and mardis family would have been in his ear to come home for years. Eventually he caved. I still maintain if he was single he would still be a crow

Well done, handled it as best as he could.

I don't see why Danger winning an award for 2015 is embarrassing at all for our club. He was judged as our B&F last year - it does not have any influence on our future.

All the anger about the move is just hot-air. One player is not as important as everyone is making out. He will not lift Geelong as much as they hope, he will not take as much away from AFC as people fear.

Anyone who says that adding Dangerfield to Geelong means they are top 4 - or - taking Dangerfield from Adelaide makes us bottom 4 ... is just sprouting nothings.

Is this really something you needed to share with us? What you would do with the jacket? Your advice on how the Dangerfield clan should go about having and raising a family is so lacking empathy I'm actually impressed.

I think you might find that where Mardi and Danger live and choose to start a family is as much about them and the people around them - as the "little sprog's" memories of the area.

I'll pass on some unsolicited advice to anyone who is struggling to understand Danger and Mardi's perspective.

Never live your life by anyone else's rules. Different strokes for different folks.

Easy there tiger who's giving advice to who? I just offered my observations on how I found the first two years of parenthood. And that is years 0-2 are somewhat inconsequential compared to years 4+ when they start forming relationships with their greater community. I think you need to re-read my post and you'll see I haven't all tried to tell the Danger's how to be parents, just that I can't understand the pull of wanting to go home for family reasons before you've even had kids.

Judging by Chris Scott's comments, Fagans comments and dangerfields concern I don't think it's going to end very well for either party. I have a feeling things are going to get very messy.
Firstly geelong will up there offer in the hope adelaide blink.
Adelaide will match.
AFLPA will then either lobby the afl for another pick.
With the compensation from geelong offered to Adelaide grossly under what they want, a third party like Melbourne will come in and offer pick 3 and next years first rounder.
Geelong stand firm, Adelaide stand firm.
The hole free agency thing will become a debacle and the big looser will be danger.
Start looking for a house in Brisbane danger.

He is now the recipient of our B&F. Not comfortable with him excepting this after he has chosen to abandon the AFC. The hardest decision of his life? No it should have been a no brainer. He made it hard by leaving.

Geelong who have done little for him in the past except to deliver cheap shots On field are now the recipient of a fully fledged superstar!

And they want him for nothing!

Personally I think it's a dog act by one whom I expected more from. As for Geelong their inability to keep Ablett was the catalyst for this deception. Yes deception. Patrick new in August he was leaving. So all those times he denied having made a decision was a lie.

Now we have to pay for Geelong's incompetence in dealing with the Ablett saga. I say bring on the trade period and make them earn their new recruit. Because so far they have done little to deserve the lucky turn of events that will deliver them one of the best players in the league. At a bargain price.

I think Danger is a quality player and a quality person. He gave our club great service, as he was contracted to do, and he was rewarded in kind.

I wish him well.

But I don't think he's ever been a team first player and that's what has stood out to me all season, even when hearing his speech last night. I don't think he fits the culture Walshy was trying to instill and I think he knows this. He's the anti-Sloane. For that reason I think our club will ultimately be better off with him gone regardless of what we get as compensation.

All of this could have been avoided if Dangerfield was rightly handed the captaincy at the start of the season. The bloke has leadership written all over him with how he performs on the field and is rather media savvy off the field. He would have been perfect. It may have planted the seed for the situation we have today. Much harder to leave a club if you are captain.

I know Griffen will be brought up. The dogs were a basket case when he left, you guys are not, you are on the right track. He would have been a captain that had led his team to a semi against all the odds of what occurred this season. Very hard to walk away from.
I imagine going home at some stage has been on Danger's mind since he was drafted and the idea to leave now probably started as soon as free agency was announced.

You don't offer the captaincy to a guy who hasn't committed to your club. I have no doubt that was a major factor in the decision to overlook him.

I'd take Walker (or Sloane) over Danger as captain every day of the year.

Maybe you should have offered Ablett the captaincy? Would that have made him stay?

if he wants to move for family, he wants geelong. There is no certainty he gets Geelong.

would he have been better taking the 2 years and being able to make decisions with absolute certainty?

Geelong could have offered him more than we could match. Instead they want to have their cake and eat it too.

I don't even think the Cats will bother with a FA offer & will attempt to trade, as they know the Crows will match & only delay things.

Cats have chased Danger, so to back out now would look silly & Danger's agent will burn you with all his players... but it won't get to that as Cats will trade.

Get ready to lose 2 x 1st round picks & a little extra. IMO, giving up all these picks & perhaps a player will cost the Cats balancing up the squad & getting up the ladder. Ironic, given Danger originally said he would only leave for success... but AFC's squad is better positioned age-wise with talent profile & he may in fact help further if we trade wisely with his picks. It's about the team, not the individual...
