Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
If (long shot) Danger goes to the ND, and Geelong have traded away #9, and by some luck he's still there at Pick #13, and we choose him, does FA reset, or is it just 2 more years till UFA?

I don't. How you instantly replace the guys that have left, that experience, and expect to just rebound into the top 4 ... I don't get it.So do we think Geelong will be better next year?
Here's an idea. <just for fun, I don't think this will happen>If (long shot) Danger goes to the ND, and Geelong have traded away #9, and by some luck he's still there at Pick #13, and we choose him, does FA reset, or is it just 2 more years till UFA?
If Geelong really dont fear Danger ending up in a draft we have zero leverage. Im sure they will do their homework and figure out the likelihood of someone else taking him.
Lots of clubs will talk it up but I honestly believe none will pick a bloke against his will. His go home factor is a major issue.
Just my opinion FWIW.
Adelaide shouldn't be worrying about what Geelong get, they need to break it down to Option A or Option B (if it comes down to that) and if Option B means you get something Vs nothing, then you take that. I'm not trying to convince anyone of what decision Adelaide SHOULD make, I'm just saying that to get nothing and let Danger walk would be foolish, especially if he finds his way to Geelong anyway.
I don't think it sets a precedent because every trade is unique and something involving a player of this calibre only happens at most once a year throughout the whole league meaning that the circumstances are not going to apply broadly to every trade from here on out. Players aren't going to just start walking out the door because Adelaide accepted a priority pick for Danger. There's far too many elements involved to simplify it down to that. I don't think it will have any impact on how anyone, including players and managers, view Adelaide.
We'll blink first.
Geelong might be confident but no chance Mardi will be keen on Danger going in the draft, therefore I think Danger would be putting a fair bit of his own pressure on Conners and Geelong to do a trade. If Geelong really dont fear Danger ending up in a draft we have zero leverage. A quote to remember when Vic club supporters bitch and moan about the fixture....Worsfold said today he was only ever interested in coaching in Melbourne as the travelling involved for any of the interstate clubs took too much toll on his family/relationship which he had experienced at the WCE. And for that very reason he was NEVER in the frame for our position.
Had nothing to do with us, and everything to do with Mrs Worsfold. 5 or 6 less trips per year.
Hold out for AFL mediation and get a reasonable result ala Essendon & Port last year.If Geelong offer a ridiculously low offer and we don't match then Roo, Chapman and Fagan's positions will be bordering on untenable.
By the sounds of it pick 9 should get it done but we want more and rightfully so.
So last week Dwayne Russell Sai the trade was pretty much agreed to in principle
This week Dwayne says we have asked for Nat Cockatoo Collins
Seems Dwayne really doesn't know at all
Ok thanks. Us giving them the currency to get Henderson stinks. We give them Danger and a helping hand? Meh. I want more picks lol.He was fairly firm on that the trade will be done early. And it will be a trade. He was adamant that compensation from RFA has never really been considered by either club, Geelong happy enough to trade and make it amicable (without handing over too much).
He said that the Crows were after a couple of draft picks or a draft pick and a player. He listed multiple players. Rowey is the one that locked in on the mention of Cockatoo and blew it out of proportion.
Rowey and a few callers then started going on about potential trades - the main one being repeated was Danger and Crows Pick 13 to Geeong. Pick 9 and Cockatoo to Crows. Geelong then trade 13 to Carlton for Henderson.
In short there was nothing of substance from that segment. Other than that Dwayne maintains that it will be a trade.

What I found interesting was when he said the Crows were seeing which of their players would want to be traded to Melbourne cityHe was fairly firm on that the trade will be done early. who cares? they pick him up for nothing and get to trade him for his full value one or two years later. If Geelong really dont fear Danger ending up in a draft we have zero leverage. Im sure they will do their homework and figure out the likelihood of someone else taking him.

They would do their homework and decide how real the risk of him being picked is.Why would they not fear that?
It is about time that the AFC grow some balls and buck the trend. If it costs pick 14, and even if Danger gets to Geelong via the draft, who give a f... If he does get to Geelong, it wont be our fault. It will be the stupidity of the 7 teams that allow him to get through to Geelong.
What I know is that If the AFC allow Danger to get to Geelong by accepting just the compo pick or Geelong's 1st pick only, I will no longer be a member of the AFC.
