Campo wanted him to go back to the SANFL and sure up a spot at some point. There really are 'experts' in the media calling the game who are stealing a living.
Campo has been talking about how good Curtin is since he watched him in Perth in his draft year, also talking today how he dominated SANFL last year in the middle.

Not saying he didn't say this, but Campo is genuinely one of his biggest fans in the media and this would have been early last year i think, could be wrong.

The marking is becoming such a weapon. As soon as he has a mismatch, which is basically always because few players of his size have his mobility, we can just put it on his head and he’s almost guaranteed to mark it.

He slowly but surely is starting to bring all the attributes that were noticed at junior level on to the AFL field. A lesson in why you persist with talent and let them grow at senior level.

Now just do the same with Draper.

I feel like he now has the trust of his teammates to kick it to him in a 1v1, knowing he’s going to outsize almost all other wingers. Reckon Hinge was the first to recognise it as well, I can remember a game earlier this year where Hinge on a couple of occasions deliberately went to Curtin in a 1on1, and Curtin marked them as well.

Something clicked since last year, as in he’s more confident within himself. Because I don’t recall his marking was this good last year.
He’s definitely matured as a player, because very few young blokes that sign an extension can come out and play the best game of their career right away. And a game where he’s some chance for the 3 Brownlow votes too!

I never noticed this before, but with the rate of maturity, he’s some chance of being captain material.

That was not campo or Will goodings, it was the other bloke.

For someone so young his decision making, contested marking and kicking are elite.

Only 6 months ago if someone offered me a trade that would have netted us D Sharp I would have jumped at it without a second thought. Now...no way in hell. This kid is special.

Why though? Curtin was literally coming into his second year? People seem super impatient..

Pretty happy to have Curtin 20+ possession on sportsbet today (gamble responsibly) @$4.50.

Gutsy bet considering he had literally never cracked 20 possessions in his career before!

As others have already quipped, he probably cost himself some serious cash by extending prior to this game.

After what has felt like a whole season of him playing on the "other wing", we seemed determined to work the ball through Curtin today, and it paid dividends. He just doesn't waste disposals, and his marking is a huge weapon.

He has single-handedly ended Sholl's career, too.

Curtin's stoppage craft is an unknown

Probably not worth exploring it at this stage, even in dead Q4s. Just don't want young players shuffling through too many different roles while they're finding their feet

Preseason though, definitely have a look
Yep, let him settle this year on a wing and then explore his readiness as a centre square mid in the offseason. Its working like a charm him off a wing and he gets up and down the ground with ease now..it really could not be looking more promising for him

This has aged so badly...

I just wish people would make a mental note of this. Next time someone says Rowey said this or that, tell that person to stfu. He's no better or than anyone on here. His bad takes just have more reach.

Rowey is no different to any past player or “expert” in the media. It’s just their opinions. Some are good, some are shit.

I don't think anyone gives Rowe any credit as a football analyst, do they? He's the wacky radio guy, not a serious voice on anything.

There are ex players that get it right most of the time. Hodge and Bartel would be examples. Rowe is just a shit tier football personality.
