When he's moving through traffic and delivering a kick he definitely reminded me of Pendles, seems to create extra time. Aerially he reminds me of Dawson a bit. Gathering the ground ball I don't know who to compare him to but he doesn't fumble and he emerges with the ball every time. It's awesome to watch. I get the draft hype now.
He also reminds me a bit of a Sturt player, Keith Chessell. Chessell had that ability to create the space he needed. He wasnt the fastest footballer but he was a very talented, classy player. Could take a strong mark and delivery the ball accurately.

He just always seems under pressure and with no time.
Definitely not saying he doesn’t work hard.
Hower his tackles (1), pressure acts and one percenters were low for this match.
Like that handball to Curtin in the third quarter for Curtins snap goal. Where ANB weaved through traffic to hand it off?

You’re watching a different footballer than me.

ANB is a legitimate shape keeper who gets possessions and then runs hard defensively to ensure that the opposition can’t take an easy path to goal.

By getting back into defence 50% of the time, that’s another warm body the opposition have to avoid before they can push forward.

We’re gonna have to disagree on ANB, he has been a fantastic value for money recruiter.

He is a Freo support iirc...they could use him now I would have thought and with any luck, as it gets closet to Dan being out of contract, Freo and down in the dumps in a rebuild (no offence to any Freo supporters checking this, its purely so it helps us keep Dan)

Hmmm.. #6 for the Crows - becomes a legend
Traded to Fremantle for the last two seasons of his career

I don’t think I’ve said he’s not.
All I’ve said is he always seems rushed and under pressure with the ball.
Even keays seems like he has more time.
ANB is a big upgrade on Murphy for sure.

Lots of highlights there but I love his handball at 21 seconds. Its so smooth and controlled, weighted the ball perfectly.

Some players look like theyre going a million miles an hour (Keays), and others look like the whole game pauses around them (Curtin). Hes got a bit of Pendlebury or Bont in him

ANB is a rorschach test in terms of whether you're more inclined to think about the game by way of fantasy stats or if you're inclined to think about the game actually having played it.

Agreed. Point in case, Max has terrible stats but I don't think many people would call for him to be dropped

As long as he kicks 440 goals first.

This kid is one seriously good footballer.

Can you just picture what he’s gonna be like with 50 games under his belt and another preseason or two..

He’s gonna be a 197cm midfielder that can rest forward and that can mark brilliantly overhead, tackles like an animal, kicks like fog and walker and is silky smooth in traffic.

Truely scary proposition.

It could have been Curtin for north, but instead it might be curtains if they keep going the way they are.
We could have followed a similar trajectory. Our drafting 2015-2019 does not look great. We could have continued along those lines.

We have a couple more fans than them, no chance we fold

I didn't actually take "north could fold" seriously. I don't think the AFL lets it happen. Fitzroy was back when there was not much money around.

I meant more "we were just as shit, but then we sorted out our drafting".

I’ll admit it, I was wrong.

I was disappointed with Curtin after his first year (and round 1 this year). Assumed we blew another top 10 pick on a defender when we were desperate for a midfielder. Was worried if he’d even make it and if he did he’d get traded back west for a packet of chips.

Kid is an absolute weapon. Has great mark, great kick, great speed. Does stuff someone his size shouldn’t. Starting to find the ball and makes great decisions. And he is only in his 2nd afl season.

Can’t wait to see him continue to grow but think he’ll be a superstar of the comp.

Sorry for doubting you, Dan!

Not sure why, there were lions club raffles and fund raisers everywhere and they still went bust

I am a little worried that NWM will re-sign with the Saints for 2 years and then head to Port as they lose Bergman via free agency.

Hopefully I’m way off and Nas is pumped about moving home now to become a Crow for the decade ahead.
