SEN reporting the Suns throwing big dollars at a West Coast player whose surname has a double r in it.

That wasn't SEN Reporting...
That was a guy who rang and said he had inside info...

Bit of a difference...

4 words: Brock McLean. Pick 11.

Kerr is worth at least a top 10 pick.

you have to factor in that not everyone is as stupid as carlton though.

really doubt kerr is going anywhere.

his value to west coast >>> value on the trade table

I would love to have Kerr at the Hawks, he is a proven superstar and would slot nicely into the Hawks midfield.

But at 700k plus, can't see him moving anywhere, the only club who could afford him would be Gold Coast.

Wouldn't be surprised if he took a pay cut as long as he was offered contract security.
He's got another 3 friggin years at top dollar, which is why this debate is so stupid. Especially when you consider both the club and he have said it's not an option.

Now that Hansenn bloke however ... ;)

if you're going to trade for him, lets hope he's lightened up on the pies since the eagles B&F
Geez, he looks like a classic ex-footballer who hasn't worked out you have to eat less once you retire and stop training.

Kerr at his best I always enjoyed more the Judd and Cousins, a star when his on his game, I always thought he tried to do to much without the other two which caused him to lose focus on actually playing (i Had the same problem in z grade football) instead he should just focus on going hard for the ball and playing team football, to often recently ive seen him standing still around packs waiting for the hitouts with a tagger 3 inches inside him already, no way to win a hard ball effectivly.

Ive always thought he could get back to his best with the right mindset after 3-4 week injurys, not sure how he will go after being rulled out for the last 18 weeks of the season, reports so far have being so so. I was thinking a J Harbrow for Kerr trade recently

Kerr should definitely be traded. But i very much doubt he will be.

He wont be at wce for our next premiership tilt and would be of immense value to a premiership contender. When fit he is without doubt an elite midfielder.

The talk of kerr not being able to take a tag is actually untrue. During some games in the judd, cousins era kerr actually took the number one tag. He was more damaging than the other two but normally got less ball. He also dominated in 2007 when those two weren't playing. The perception that he cant take a tag has been born from the fact that since 07 when judd and cuz have been gone he has been injured most of the time and hasn't been fully fit. Needless to say though a bit of class around him would do him wonders giving him more space to run and carry and somebody he can feed off the handball to.

Kerr is 27 and would have at-least 3 years left. With less travel and better management could play to 32.

Its hard to estimate what he is worth. Obviously the mclean trade is not precedent because mclean trade was clearly one sided. The burgoyne is a far better precedent. Kerr is a better player than burgoyne but is under an injury cloud so i would reckon a pick around 10-15 would be fair.

However i personally would be happy to take less than this because i believe the club should continue a rebuild and chase youth.

Here's a snapshot of what he's still capable of. This was earlier this year.

We will have him with a 2nd round pick plus Urqhart. Reason being, Kerr is 27 already and injury prone plus he won't be in his prime for much longer.

Urqhart is only 22 but inconsistent but has plenty of talent and room to develope. Also add a pick for sweetener as Kerr after all is a primiership player.

The fact he's barely played for 3 years would really really drop his value. I couldn't see the eagles getting more than about pick 20 honestly. Of course, if he actually played every game he could well be the star needed to make a premiership team of St. Kilda or someone like that.

If he played 22 games he would get back to his best and would make a lot of teams serious premiership chances even favourites. Carlton, Hawthorn, Geelong, Freo, WB, stkilda

Been out of football too much to have any real value. Perhaps to St kilda, though they might be gun-shy towards trading first rounders, considering what happened last year. I'm struggling to think of anyone else who would give up a reasonable pick for him, considering he may never return to consistent top football again.

Though this thread makes good reading, with 3/4 of the posts being WCE supporters ...

Interesting. Beau waters hadnt played for 2 years before this year. he did ok.
Kerr has played this year and has shown he can still play at his best in the video above.
He should be traded for a first rounder and most of the fans would agree. But i doubt the club would trade him for anything less than a top 10 pick.
