Potentially we have destroyed him as a key forward for this year. EH has jumped ahead of him. A crazy bit of player management. If we slot him back into the forwards what happens to EH.
They are two very different forwards.

Fogarty won't come in as a KPF/backup ruckman. Himmelberg was always a cover for JJ's role and Fogarty for Tex's role. We still don't have cover for Lynch's role. MAYBE Davis in the long term but certainly not now.

Fogarty for Tex's role.

I'm not even sure that's ever been true anymore, given our headlong pursuit of Lukosius last year, a player who appears to have a size and skill set much more suited to playing up the ground like a CHF.

I think the club sees Fogarty as a mid sized third forward like Jack Darling or Jake Stringer, and are demanding more run, more mobility, and more utility out of him as he develops. I have the impression that if Walker were to go down now, we'd play Himmelberg and Jenkins together, before considering Fogarty.

Yes of course there is. Probably safer too playing in the AFL then a country league.

What is the point you are making?
Your post was suggesting Fog should be up and about as a KPF in the AFL because Tex did it as a 16yo.

I was more aligned with the KPFs need 3 or 4 years to really play well at AFL level. Stats below, and looking at these, I'm not too concerned, but it would have been nice to see Fog play some more games this year. How many of the players below though were up against 3 strong KPFs to get in the team?

Hawkins
2007 - 9 games, 12 goals
2008 - 10 games, 13 goals

Ben Brown (in a bottom team)
2014 - 11 games, 18 goals
2015 - 22 games, 32 goals

Joe Daniher
2013 - 5 games, 3 goals
2014 - 21 games, 28 goals

Josh Kennedy
2006 - 9 games, 5 goals
2007 - 13 games, 6 goals

Todd Marshall
2017 - 3 games, 1 goals
2018 - 7 games, 11 goals

Jack Reiwoldt
2007 - 8 games, 7 goals
2008 - 18 games, 18 goals

Tex
2008 - 0 games, 0 goals
2009 - 14 games, 23 goals
2010 - 18 games, 35 goals

I dunno, the way you've been having a hissy fit I didn't think you had much intelligence yourself.

LOL, how many times are you going to respond to a post by accusing posters of having a hissy fit. You're making a habit of it recently, it must be your default quote.
Maybe try hugging a tree.

No I wasnt suggesting that at all.

Sorry you did all those stats, wish you mentioned them before your post I would have saved you the trouble I actually did know them before passing comment.

I just would have expected Fog to be a more dominant in the SANFL in order be commanding a spot in our forrwardline. I also think its important that he gets an opportunity to play in our team, while we have Tex, JJ and Lynch so that he may command lesser defender so he can learn his craft, but also learn during a game while he has that experience around him.

Its unfair to compare Fog to Tex for a variety reasons, for starters I felt Tex was always well advanced for his age. He kicked over 50goals before he played his first game for us in his first year in the SANFL.

I also wouldnt want such an inexperienced forwardline of Fog and Berg one day until they get more games and experience into them while playing alongside Tex and JJ.

On the face of it, I highly doubt that Tex, JJ and Betts while be in our forwardline in R23 2020.

The younger players need the experience but also we need to win games to make the 8, its a balancing act.

Pyke will have his opportunities if he chooses to play Fog. I do think he missed a trick when Lynch was injured v Eagles and didnt bring Fog in, esp given Tex and Berg combined for 0.1

I agree I'm hoping he has a hot streak in the SANFL and gets called up before the end of the season. I can see him as the finals type player who can take a game and turn it on it's head.

Unfortunately, he's not done that yet, but is still only 19 (not that you'd know it when you look at him)

Agree.

Its interesting physically at the same age he looks much better developed than Tex, mind you health and fitness has changed dramatically over the past 10 years.

Must admit I feel a little sad seeing how happy he is here. He has had a tough few years recently.

Twice sure is alot. I'm just tired of seeing people constantly post negative shit across the board because they don't get their way and refuse to accept they possibly don't know more than the people working at the club.

If you don't like reading posts that have a negative view to you I suggest you decide if you want to continue on BF.

With regards to people at the club knowing better, well do you think these were all good appointments/decisions/outcomes.

Draft Penalties imposed on the club due to the Tippett saga
Trigg not being sacked
Harper who was sanctioned for his role in the Tippett debacle is still working at the club.....In fact the club didn't sack anyone from the fall out of the penalties and actions of its employees.
Appointing Burton to head of Footy Ops and Fitness and Conditioning
Pushing out Poulos
The fall out from the camp last year
Appointing Hart as an assistant
Chapman having a job for life
Campo having a job for life
Internal reviews....to keep the boys club in tact
Member appointed board representatives that don't engage with the members that voted for them.
Fagan telling us that we are going to have the best footy program
Fagan telling us that we will have the right people in the right positions.
Players leaving the club, geez one even thought Carlton was a bloody better destination

And you wonder why posters have a negative view of the club. Even a quarter of that would have you question the people running the club.

Or do you think after that black list we should take your position and just be patient??

Negative posting is one thing, but carrying on like a broken record with a superiority complex is another thing entirely...

You wasted a lot of time writing all that oht. Where have I ever said any of that was OK? I've taken plenty of shots, I have a problem with posters who do nothing but bring negativity and throw constant shots at every single thing that happens and the club does. Nothing is good enough, no decision is right, it's boring and tiresome to see every thread derailed with the same shit.

Second year blues for Fogs. Also a young key position player. Im happy he had a bit of time developing his defensive side. Now looking forward to him ripping games open in the SANFL.

I dunno, the way you've been having a hissy fit I didn't think you had much intelligence yourself.

I'm not sure I'm capable of being insulted by this. Why would I place any weight on your ability to discern intelligence? I mean, presumably you through this was a cutting post when you typed it...

I don't see how he plays in the next few years.

One of our tall forward roles seems reserved for a back up ruckman. Ok.

Tex and Lynch fill the other two, our captain and one of our most important players. Are they going anywhere?

We've refused to push Lynch up the ground.

There doesn't seem to be any avenue into the team, barring injury.

Maybe we need Burton back involved in conditioning?

Pretty much. We spent the resource of drafting him first round, then made practical decisions that meant that we didnt have room for him at all.

I'm not sure it's helpful to think of him as a tall forward anymore.

I think we drafted him as a medium/third forward with an eye to the stability of McGovern and the longevity of Lynch, and so far he hasn't developed or displayed the form to either displace Lynch, or win back the other spot from whatever small we've decided is more effective this week.

I honestly think Fog will get some games in the back half of the season, especially if we look like struggling to make the eight.

Must be hard having that gun to your head stopping you from logging off.

because they don't get their way and refuse to accept they possibly don't know more than the people working at the club.

It’s been proven on many occasions that some of them do.

Making the 8 is almost lock, even if/when we lose the next 3 games.

From my calculations we wont know whether or not we make the 8 till R23. A win over the next two weeks, changes this dramatically.
