A forced hyperextension where the foot isn’t in contact with the ground, e.g. ruckmen’s shins colliding, is a PCL mechanism.

Foot on the ground and hyperextension is an ACL mechanism.
Stop talking TRS 😢

Remember Stevie J in 2011? Everyone thought he did his knee in the prelim but went on to play in the GF against us.

The Giannis comparison was good, his own doctors thought it was definitely an ACL and they are not often wrong over there. He played the next week.

McRae said its a hyperextension and hoping for positive news

That is incredible because it means a negative Lachman.

Just got to hope the MRI is ok now.

Had a close friend and his son in the rooms talking to Darcy after the game (you could see him chatting in the background on TV). Said Darcy told him he was positive about the injury. It was not as bad as it looked. Darcy said they used the stretcher to have a pause to re-group.

Yeah he was making his way off with the runners and the stretcher was a good tactic... hopefully.

I don’t think the stretcher being used as a tactic is anything to hang our hat on, as he couldn’t put weight on the leg.

Fly’s statement thus far has given me cause for hope though. Dream the impossible dream.

I was going to say it was a wise move to get the stretcher out and hold the game until the numbers were even and the players had the chance to refocus after the injury to a lead player.
Also kudos to those Suns players who tapped Darcy on the shoulder in a sign of solidarity as he was leaving the field.

It might explain Moore's mood in the change rooms after the game. I guess ice would still be done after a negative Lachman test just in case it was wrong? Some hope anyway!

Please let it be so!

He will still have damage of some sort, be it a PCL sprain or bone bruising, meniscus damage… we’re not out of the woods, but may have dodged an injury that would rob us of a year of Darcy’s career.

We got North, Adelaide, Essendon, and Port the next four weeks so taking a few weeks off won't be too catastrophic.
