I'm not sure why this admission will mean Hird is sacked since the planning of the program, according to the leaked email, was Reid, Robinson, and Dank, and based on Reids approval.

What is surprising for me is that one of Hird or Evans didn't walk earlier.

Hird's image is now permanently tainted, be that rightly or wrongly, but it is tainted and that won't change. I really get the feeling that Hird is now only there to see it through to the end to try and clear his name. I actually can't see him continuing next season as the coach even if he is cleared, the whole saga has no doubt had a similar toll on his health as it has Evans and he's reached a breaking point, if not for his own personal pride I suspect he would of walked months ago.

Once I saw the media scurrying like hyenas when Ben arrived to rehab I felt give this guy a break, he obviously uses drug to escape the mental pressure of life and the extra attention just made it worst. It would of been nice of them reporting about how he was about to have a child and is moving on with life outside football. I learnt my lesson from the Carlton saga, everyone labelled them cheat ect ect because they were offered to own upto it like everyone else but they were arrogant enough not to but after seeing what the penalties did to that club I realise no club deserved that high of punishment as it crippled them for years. My best mate is a Carlton supporter and we stopped going to games and have usually "slab of beer" bet because it was unfair what carlton had become. Up until afew years with that awesome match Essendon drew with Carlton n things are slowly going back to normal..

My club has copped the wrath of every clubs supporters for years, Essendon supporters being the worst of the lot. What's sad here is that some refuse to acknowledge their club has majorly stuffed up. What's sad is that Hird can do no wrong even when it seems he has done the most wrong. What's sad is that others have fallen for what is about to be exposed as his program.

What's really sad is that players could lose their livelihood and reputation

I for one don't really care who coaches the club just as long as that person has the respect of the playing group.
The players want Hird as their coach. They want to play for him. If any of them even slightly thought James may have deceived them it would've been evident by now.
So many of you say you feel for the players and hope they are cleared as long as all the officials go - especially Hird.
The players feel differently. Doesn't that tell you something?

The players have.not realised they were misled and deceived by Hird.

Oh come on, Evans is not quitting for health reasons. If someone believes they are innocent and holds on for 5-6 months, he doesn't turn around and quit a couple of weeks before the report comes out, a report that he believes will clear him and his club.

Plus, what could have caused him undue stress? Apparently, according to him and Hird, they did nothing wrong and once the truth comes out they will be vindicated, so what caused him ill health affects if they believe 100% they are clear?

You would think that if you were convinced that the truth will vindicate you in a matter of weeks, you would be in great shape a couple of weeks before you get exonerated.

I agree and have said so earlier in this thread. This post is in response to the media being blamed for Evan's "ill health".

And did you ever just sit back and accept the crap leveled at your club? No, I bet you didn't. Look, if this all goes pear shaped as most of us expect to, the realization will hit them. Relax people. There is an email from ASADA saying it is fine to use AOD-9604. And it has been proven to not even do what it was supposed to do. Why we didn't produce this evidence 5 months ago, not sure. Why we were injecting a substance that turns out to not enhance performance not sure either. But let's wait for the facts to get out before we comment. The club will be in a very good place when this investigation has finished. Obviously since there is nothing in this, the investigation will be over in a few hours or days......
