They'll play Usman though, won't they? Outrageous if they don't. After carrying him around for two tours and not giving him a chance.

I don't know whether to laugh or get depressed. Adding to team of players who can't play patiently - David Warner.

i'm not so fussed any more. wouldn't mind him opening in place of hughes. if you're going to go for bling (hughes) at least go for the blingest bling available. if he's with someone solid like marsh or uzi it could be worth a look. i would not like to see him open with watto

wouldn't be surprised if they finally drop watto down this test

also hope they don't go hughes-warner lol

Warner is not a test cricketer.

No technique.

He is another:confused: NSWelshman!

In form, type for type in terms of where they bat. Sensible decision to show some faith in him.

Those criticising it have obviously only see him play T20's and are ignoring the fact he's making FC runs.

Best? No. Best U33? Yeah probably. Cowan's had a bad start to the season. Klinger's done nothing special and all the rest either blow, have a history of blowing but maybe might be coming good (loooool. talking bout the likes of Liam Davis and Rob Quiney) or have less exp than warner.

Of course they didn't have to pick an opener. But really, see above. No-one's really pushing for selection.

Oh, I don't think they have a choice in terms of what's out there. But doesn't mean I don't feel depressed about it.

Shaun Marsh may have a curtailed career and of all the new guys he looks the one who most puts a price on his wicket. By some way.

Do we have an opener who can see the shine of the new ball and score about 15 runs in the first 10 overs like they should?

Makes a hundred and is straight into the squad

Guess which state he plays for :o
Phil Hughes made a test hundred one match ago and people are screaming for him to be dropped.

Guess which state he plays for.

Warner aint Test match material.

Seems to me that NSW players are always at the top of the list incase someone gets injured or dropped. Might be hard to believe this but there's actually other players who play in other states not just NSW.

A reminder of the Aus A teams

Of those batsmen, Finch and Ferguson are in horrible form so far this season, Hughes and Usman are already there, Paine's injured and Marsh is in pretty shitty batting form. So it's hardly a surprise to see Warner there given presumably the aus a squads featured those they considered next in line. I wouldn't like him to be there, but there's not much else to choose from. adam voges?

It's utterly hilarious how there's a stigma against Warner.

People are assuming that because he's a good T20 player, that he couldn't play a good FC innings. Well he has 900 FC at an average of 60 and a SR of 70 to go with 5 scores above 50 in 16 innings. Stats don't lie and those look pretty good to me.

Just shows how utterly banal the Australian cricket community is. No wonder we have shit selectors.
