James Clement was the last real intellectual we had at our club, and I'd say hat didn't work out too bad, so all the best to Chris in whatever he does off the field.

As for his Dad's comment about "deferring" to older players, I think that is common for young players, especially key position players, that they are a little star struck and prefer to concentrate on the team rather then themselves sometimes.

I think that article has one theme though, Chris Dawes has arrived as an AFL player, and is here to stay.

I know that usually happens, but I think Dawes is one player that wouldn't let media attention "go to his head".

Add the fact that North's defense is a little young and inexperienced, and Dawes should be in for a good night.

Especially if Jack kicks a bag in the vfl it should inspire him to do likewise. He did it last week so I'm sure he'll do it again tonight.
