At the end of last year Zaha was improving with an upwards gradient whereas beams was getting dropped its not surprising or unwarranted for people to think Zaha will improve more from now than beams.

Great, not really relevant to my post, but ok.

Some articles differ, clearly. At the time it really appeared and sounded like he could have played with the groin soreness but was dropped. His hawks performance was woeful so i guess it can be interpreted either way. If it was swan or pendlebury he would of played.

The thing I like about that article is all the direct quotes from Malthouse.
