Sounds like the Final Offer from Lions is Pick 5+28.
No Way!

I would be gutted if after all this we took it.
I'd take 2 draft picks under 14 or 5 and Redden. .

TD is under's and 2 draft picks under 14 or 5 and Redden is overs.

Brisbane would never entertain that as much as I would love that outcome.

TBH both clubs have negotiated themselves into corners by saying publicly what they are and are not willing to accept, if they back down now one of the recruiters will lose face.....

Meh I don't think that will be remembered in a weeks time if a deal is done.

From Collingwood's point of view Beams is a contracted player on a medium contract in 2015 so it really doesn't hurt us too much if he stays. He may even change his mind in time who knows.

From Beams' point of view he foregoes significant money next year if we hold him to his contract and the deal on the table now may or may not be there next year.

For Brisbane, well they identified a type they needed to recruit a while back with their spare salary cap and a local boy wants to come home apparently.

As a Collingwood supporter I have no issue with Beams playing at Collingwood in 2015 so I don't see that outcome as 'losing face'.

When they try to kill you on the battlefield, they are enemies.

Kill on the field of battle lol. Those scary kids of GWS better watch out we're coming to kill them...

It's sport they're just opponents and teams are competitors.

Just interested re: what pies think greenwood is worth compared to beams value. Dont get me wrong beams is far far far better but i just wanted to know if a player states his preference what the supporters think the clubs strategy for getting it done is..

Apologies if ruffled feathers, just slow trade day i guess.

Levi high 2nd rd pick
Dayne mid 1st rd and an established top 5 mid.

Big difference is levi can walk to psd and roos get nothing.
Beams is under contract

Didnt Caro say something about a done deal and the story would be broken by another journo today?
Geez, she's struggling lately.

Lately???
Think it's longer than that. She's a reborn virgin due to 15years of cobwebs

Rejecting the Brisbane offer and leaving Beams no alternative but to play on is definitely not losing face. Quite the opposite it shows the club is willing to stand firm. What Brisbane are trying to do at the moment is extortion. The CFC must not back down even if it does mean we lose out in the long term. You have to stand by your principles.

They can't go after more than one player at a time? Also as a neutral due to greenwoods end of season and the apparent $$$ he has been offered i think 2 picks int he 20s is his true value. With more than 1 club interested and him not wanting to go to St Kilda in the ND i think thats close to what will be done....
Keep dreaming. All the rational Roos fans I've spoken to say a pick in the 20's is fair.

Didn't realise you were James Aish or his manager...
Lol your lot has a history of drafting unhappy recruits, bit different seeing them go than seeing them forced up there by the the AFL isn't it?

NOT the AFL's golden child anymore, just going to have to harden up and take it like the rest of the league did when the AFL was playing bully boy for you.

Still then he has to play for St Kilda (goodbye flags)

No he doesnt. He simply puts a price the saints cannot afford. Or quite simply the saints actually dont need him, there after tall key position players. They believe they have 6 or 7 gun mids of the future already.

I honestly have no idea how this is going to end up. Both clubs have drawn a line in the sand. Brisbane have stated they will not be trading players and we have demanded pick 5 and a player. As it stands at 5 and 28 we would need to cave in, doubt that we will. Or Brisbane needs to up the ante and give as a player that we will take as well as draft pick. I can see us settling for 28 if this occurs. Although this would be a massive back down by Brisbane. At this stage my best guess has to be a third team coming to the party in the next two days or we talk to GCS.

I didn't realize this is the brisbane board, you must get bored with yes men on your board to be always here................... :)

If lions can get pick 19 from GWS (which they will get from hawthorn for orourke), then trade us 5 + 19 + 25 then we give them beams + pick 29.

We give 25 to north for greenwood.

We get 23 for lumumba.

We would then have 5, 9, 19,23

Take Garlett at 19 and Blakey at 23.

We could even try and retain pick 29 and offer our 3rd rounder.

I'm not happy with it but it's not bad

lol at the AFL trade guys today suggesting that Pick 5 for Beams is equal (despite calling him a "gun"), but then suggesting that Dangerfield would command both Picks 2 and 3.
(I think the Danger suggestion is fair - but there is no way the gap between Beams and Danger is that large)

With the amount of Cap space that St Kilda, brisbane and a few of the clubs have i would be amazed if a player of his quality makes it to your selection in ND, i mean i dont think this is luke ball #2
