Presti. The two old warhorses going at it and not saying a word to each other.

You won't see Barry giving Presti the stare-off. He's got the bulk but Presti has the fist.

Maxwell or Harry would get absolutely butchered by Barry. Leigh Brown would be more of a chance than them.
Presti is the man though - unless we can get Wakes out of retirement just for the Dogs games, he used to destroy Hall each time he played on him... :)

Both Maxwell and Harry would be far better options on Hall than Leeroy.

Presti will get given the job and hardly ever gets moved off a forward mid-game, but the clear 2nd option is Harry with Johnson and maybe Hahn out.

Presti

just like the sun will rise in the morning, presti will play on and beat hall

You would think Presti with support from Maxwell and Harry o.

Out of interest how many times has Presti actually played on Hall?

iirc Wakelin use to get the job more often then not and beat him as well.

Last two years and early 00s.

Wakes had him between

collingwood played well last year against us, i would imagine presti gets the job on Hall along with Maxwell as third man up blocking off hall leading space, probably frustrate the shit out of him and might cause him to punch someone imo.

Wakes retired at the end of 08 so it was pretty much just last year for Presti and the pre Wakes era.
It was always a treat playing against Sydney & Hall - the victory was about as much of a sure thing as Wakelin destroying Bazza.. :)

So their opponents are free? Sounds good to me.

You might need to watch a few Collingwood games then if you think this is the case...
That is the way we operate on a weekly basis, with Shaw & Maxwell playing looser checking roles but providing support to the other defenders.

This is probably the easiest match-up to predict in the entire game.

Presti is in the side to play on and beat the power forwards. The Doggies only have one.

Not sure it warrants too much discussion after this....

But if you go three against Hall in the air we will have two loose men on the ground.

Generally against us(please correct me if I am wrong) Shaw takes johnno and Maxwell takes Hahn and they don't play that loose(but then again both those players could be missing in round 1).

Match ups pretty close yeah. No one said anything about both of them going up at the same time. What I mean is that they do play closer to Presti and the other KPB's to provide support and go up as a third man when they can. Maxwell did this as good as anyone in the league last year, knowing exactly when he was able to leave his opponent and go up to either mark the ball coming in or get a fist in.

Presti on Hall
Maxwell on Hahn
Harry on Johnson

Murphy is hard cause he plays tall
Then you can either have Shaw or Toovey play on Higgins.

Fair enough.

I say Harry on Murphy because the likelihood of Johnson playing is pretty remote according to Rocket Eade's comments. Harry is big enough and has the pace and agility to keep up with him :thumbsu:
