Sensible discussions don't tend to happen with this quality (and volume) of information.

You're right. Close down the forums and tell football fans to never discuss their clubs again.

People are capable of amending their opinions if further better evidence is introduced.

isn't it funny when teams are losing all the talk about disharmony comes out. Win a few games and all that talk goes away. weird
Chicken and egg. The losing is a product of the disharmony.

I can't think of any examples where there has been rumors of trouble within a club that has gone away because they started to win games. I can think of plenty where this has happened after a clean out.

I've got no problem with us following the Geelong way of doing things.

My problem is that we've adopted the Geelong game plan only.

We've tried to adopt the style without first making sure we have the substance.
We haven't adopted the geelong gameplan.
The Geelong gameplan involves fast running and ball movement by folks like stokes, mackie, varcoe, motlop, Christensen, Murdoch. They don't crowd the contest and are happy for the opposition to get first touch as long as it under intense pressure.

We don't seem to be at all interested in quick ball movement.

I think at this stage some people on here would be willing to believe that Poulos just had the players eat tubs of lard every day for the entire preseason if someone posted a rumour thread about it.

I must say, I find the whole "we're losing, therefore everyone at the club involved with the preparation of players has failed utterly" mentality very frustrating. Clearly some people have ****** up badly. Is it the skills coaches? The fitness staff? The recruitment staff? The admin? Some combination of the above, perhaps?

The fact that we're losing doesn't necessarily mean that it's all of them.

seriously, poulos had them eating tubs of lard. shit guy's did you hear that, tubs of bloody lard. gotta sack the bloke now.

mate, the only gullible idiots are not the posters asking the questions as to where we are at and how we have found ourselves there. maybe we should just wait for an official release from the club to tell us our opinion.

Crap, as if the players themselves don't know how good or bad their likely opponents on the day are???

Give the coach and players some credit for having a brain and reasonable intelligence at least!!

so you're saying that they'd lose a bit of respect for a coach that has clearly gotten it wrong. interesting thought Bicks, certainly not how we'd want our players to view the utterings of the coach. you're definitely right, a few issues down there.

Any earth shatters quotes or revelations as to what is going on from our mates on AA or MMM today?

I'm still at work and only concentrating partially on 5aa. what I can recall is that rowey thinks that we only need a little bit of tweaking and that will improve us 15%-20% and that injuries are 80% of the issue. bones seemed to be asking harder questions and flatly refused to believe that injuries are that much to blame. I'm sure others will be able to provide a fair bit more.

Good thing Tippett didn't play last weekend. Might have been beaten by 100+

This club needs to apologize to its fans for the rubbish they have served up since the end of 2012.

Injuries?

Who?

Tex will make us significantly better.
VB will play a role
Lynch and Otten are good players but are not super stars.
Crouch is still a kid and not in great form this year anyway.

Injures are not the issue. They don't help but I feel we could be in the sane boat with or without those players.

Interesting to hear Mick Malthouse on the radio tonight.

He said the members are the most important people at a football club, because, and I quote "the members vote in the board by ballot ."

We wish.

Was this on Adelaide radio or Melbourne radio?

If it was on Adelaide Radio - what was the hosts responses?

How you could put that "spin" on what I actually said is just plain amazing!!!o_O

Still, that fits in with your agenda I guess!!

Disagree Alex. One or two percent off your best game can see you beaten by 10 goals these days. We would be a significantly better side with those names in it.

It's not personnel, it's attitude.

Unless you are telling me, those players will change the attitude of the squad I humbly disagree.

Cats lost a close final in 2005, and were expected to push for a GF in 2006. They fell in a heap, and started 2007 shakily. There were significant questions about the club as a whole. Thompson was very nearly sacked. Players like Ablett, Corey, Chapman, Scarlett, Ottens etc. were questioned. The town was divided. Sponsors unhappy. I can remember the footy shows and newspaper articles. They were quite literally where we are.

In about Round 5 or 6 they smashed Richmond by 150 points and didn't lose a game from then on.

I'm not saying we will end up like the Cats, but what I am saying is, talent and skill and ability doesn't just disappear.

Something doesn't smell right. If we cannot win on Sunday it points to significant, deep concerns (if it doesn't already).
Whatever you are on, you have to share it.

Hendo and VB as well. 8 of any clubs best 22 out is going to have an effect.
