He was pick 28.Nah but i think a pick in the 20's for Mcinnes would be good for us as i think he was pick in the late 30's...but there is a chance he could be developed into a CHB for us.
He was pick 28.

Nothing personal, but isn't this a contradiction? You say he is possibly a top 5 pick but no-one will nominate him in the first round?
a lot like this entire thread then?Only those that finish below us on ladder can force is to use a first round pick.
If Fremantle finish above us and rate him highly and bid for him we're forced to use our next pick on him which would be round 2.
I think it's pointless speculation at the moment, who knows how Alec will develop over the next 12 months, how he'll sit in the scheme of things by November and who knows where we'll finish on the ladder?
Sorry for the intrusion but just having a look at Fraser McInnes and the possibility he comes down to Melbourne for more forward opportunity considering you have a killer tall forward set up currently.
Seems he's out of contract (no real report on it) but also that many of you are hoping he gets groomed into a CHB much like Lachie Henderson. What would realistically get him to be traded? The only WA tall defender we have is Simon White who wouldn't come close to replacing Glass and Yarran/Garlett are too high a price IMO.
Would a early 20s pick do it? (even though he was a late 20s pick himself).
Carlton have there own McInnes stay away from ours !Sorry for the intrusion but just having a look at Fraser McInnes and the possibility he comes down to Melbourne for more forward opportunity considering you have a killer tall forward set up currently.

Alec Waterman was supporting Norf tonight - I don't want him on our list.
Yeah, pretty close TBH. Don't know if a few rounds upgrade is an equitable trade off for the development time we have put into him though. I am actually interested to see if he has any utility as a key defender/third tall.Ah ok cool cool i thought he was pick 36 or there abouts

)Cripps had a massive game in the Colts against Subiaco. 34 touches and 138 DT points.
Jansen was solid with 26 disposals.
Marsh was beaten by Jackson in a one on one sense but still provided his usual spark up forward.
Cripps is an inside midfielder, right?

Paul Connors , Yarrans manager is set to speak to WCE this week ! Why am I not too excited ........ Carlton we wont deal with easily and surely we wouldn't give up our first round pick .

Also, I don't think a flanker is going to solve any of our major issues.
Yarran doesn't solve WC's biggest issue: the midfield, but he does somewhat fill a need if he's brought in to play as a HBF, for WC need speed and good disposal from someone in that role. Yarran's weakness when used in the HBF role is that he isn't great defensively, but if that can be trained into him, Josh Hill style, he'd be a winner in a HBF role. Given Smith and Brennan are both meh, Butler is slow, Waters can't kick to save himself, WC's second biggest need is for another quality HBF, IMO. Yarran, with some work put into him, could be that.
Bennell can be that quick HBFer. It would take our first rounder to get Yarran and what a waste that would be, essentially using an early pick on another flanker.
I put as much confidence in Bennell being the quality HBF that WC need as I put in Smith or Brennan: not much. Yarran may or may not cost us a first rounder; it depends on what deal WC could possibly spin involving Brown eye. Brown and an early second round pick for an out of favour under Mick, Yarran, is an outside possibility.
If acquiring Yarran costs WC's first round selection, WC should let the deal go through to the keeper.
