Forget Conca, Martin is exactly what West Coast need to boost our mids! Big bodied, can run and kicks goals! Give him the cash, we need the talent in the middle to climb back up the ladder.

West Coast never really have a tendency to do a lot in trade week unless forced to do so, would like to see them get on the front foot for once! My main concern is Martin's attitude, leaving the tigers when they have done everything possible for him.. but the kid can play thats for sure.

Well our new football manager is in Melbourne hunting for an established midfielder, presumably his opinion counts.

They should always be in Melbourne at this time of the year, especially after we've made a host of list changes already. It shouldn't mean anything and media speculating that it does is irrelevant.

Would trade Rosa, LeCras or Priddis well before I'd trade Hurn.
Potentially our next captain and our only mainstay in the backline other than EMac and a soon to be retired Glass. Would probably only consider it if that name was O'Meara, not Coniglio.

Talk of trading Hurn is crazy, there's a reason he's rated the best defender in AFL's ranking. He's incredible important to our team.

It seems like the only people who don't realise this are the one's whos opinions actually count. If we line up round 1 next year with the same plodding midfield setup, I wouldn't be suprised.
Yes, that's why we are chasing Conca, Martin, Yarran and Yeo, because the club has no idea the midfield is the problem.

Two of these guys aren't midfielders...

He comes across as a selfish tool. Reckon he owes Richmond for sticking through his crap but instead he leaves because he doesn't get the large amounts he thinks he's worth?

I don't think he owes Richmond anything.
The reason that they stuck with him was that he is a very good player, as opposed to the average Dan Connors who they were happy to dump.
Sticking with him was self-interest, not benevolence.

yeah i remember
Vozzo went to Melbourne a few days ago to talk to some 'established midfielders'. Now Martin wants out. Coincidence? :D
on some trashy afl trade rumors facebook page, they said Dustin martin was seen having dinner with Darren Glass and Trevor Nisbitt, which i originally laughed at, by now........... just maybe

I'd love dusty, he is a beast, he has pretty similar potential to dangerfeild imo, just comes with a bit a baggage.

Indeed, I hate how people suggest Martin owes the Tigers, the Tigers did nothing that any other club wouldn't have done for a star player like him.

Last year the Tigers delisted 7 players, and will probably do similar this year. Where's the club loyalty to those players?

True, but I get pissed off when people whine about us never doing anything. We are chasing players that might fit our team, and we have done so in the past. Unfortunately not every player we approach is going to want to play for us, doesn't mean we aren't trying though!

I don't think Martin's any chance to come to us.

Even if he wanted to, I doubt we'd be prepared to give up what we'd need to in order to get him from Richmond - and I personally wouldn't want togive up pick 6 + steak-knives.

Why would we need to offer more?

If he nominates us than pick 6 will do it. If he goes into the draft we'd still have a fair shot at drafting him at 6.

It's still to be determined whether any of these will join our club. At the moment, it is nothing but media speculation. I recall at the end of last season, Worsfold declared his intention to speed up the midfield and to be big players in the off-season to strengthen the midfield. Needless to say, that was a resounding success. :thumbsu:

We did trade for Wellingham, Cripps and Morton. Not sure how much more you could reasonably expect in one offseason.

Depends what his reasons are for leaving and who'd want him. He may wish to leave Melbourne and I'm not so sure GWS would be after him.

I'd happily give up pick 6 and potentially more for him.

Travis Colyer is un-contracted and could be interested in coming home. Hasn't been able to cement a spot in 4 years at the bombers. Pick 26 in 2009 - good skills and genuine leg speed. Would cost no more than our 3rd rounder (circa 42). Im hoping the club is sounding him out.

Martin won't come to Perth...and doubt the WCE would pay him $600k.

Conca will most likely stay now, as the Tigers will have the money.

We should target Yarren & Yeo

Yarren for our second round pick #24

Yeo for Ash smith & 3rd round pick #41

Leave us with pick 6 and nothing to till pick 60 though

Use pick 6 for Sheed

If the WCE are prepare to draft Garlett then I would keep pick 24 and not trade for Yarren

Off season out: Embley, A.Selwood, Dick, Nicoski, Hams, Smith

Off season ins: Yarren (22), Yeo (19), Sheed, pick 60 and upgrade 2 of (McGovern, Bennell, Tunbridge, Sinclair)

Decent off season - considering we won't get a big name "established midfielder"

I'd be happy with that.
