We dont want change. Dont other teams realise that if we change the teams that play on ANZAC day or Queens birthday, in a few years it will be just another game.

These games have tradition and fat ass Demtrislop is slowly taking all that out of the game.

Do you think Collingwood supporters will react in any way to what Demitiou has said? (i.e is there a chance they wont turn up in droves so they can play someone else next year and alternate the home game on a yearly basis). Would make a lot of money if they did.

No. Andy D also says that Collingwood aren't guaranteed to have QB either so even if Collingwood supporters didn't want the game to be against against Melbourne we would still turn up(as we do every week anyway). The money isn't an issue otherwise it would be an alternating home fixture already.

i like the dees pies game on QB...but i do think that other clubs deserve a crack at a public holiday game...

i dont think their supporters should sook about this when melbourne get attendances of 20-25,000 through out the year becuase they dont rock up to melbourne games

the AFL has to think of all clubs here...and its time to allow hathorn, geelong, north melbourne and the bulldogs and even some interstaters to get a crack in here and start there own tradition...i know that as a neutural i wont be watching it and id bet most supporters outside collingwood and melbourne wont...

To be honest I wouldnt care if we lost QB as there is nothing special about it. But i wouldnt worry Dees fans, we turn up every week and there is not a chance in hell that it will be under 60k.

Apologies if some have touched on my points, but I couldn't be bothered reading through the thread in its entirety.

Whilst I'm one who doesn't mind progression and change, it would be ridiculous to offer this game to other clubs. You can't give Melbourne matches every sunday and then take away on of the few matches which generates significant attention from the football world. The club needs this fixture, not only to keep in line with past tradition, but to assist them in a financial sense.

The tradition aspect is also important, this has been a long term fixture for the club, its not like a trivial clash jumper that will be worn for a few rounds a year. This match is part of the league's identity, and to raffle it off to other clubs would cheapen it greatly.

Looks to me like this prick of a man has seen North improve this year after the AFL tried to shaft them and now he's trying the same on us.

At least when the scum finally kill our club off I can do something meaningful with my weekends rather than have nervous breakdowns.
