I'm in the 'wait and see what the content is' camp, but if I do decide to buy it, it'll be before release day, irrespective of my opinion on Bungie/Activision. As Lance Uppercut said the first 48 hours or so after release is the best part.

who are you all kidding. You'll all throw money at the screen and be there front and centre on release day, there's nothing surer!!!

:p
I'd give myself about $1.01 odds of this being true for me.

I'm confident they will have the content to cover the price tag. Also,
New raid! The feeling of going into a brand new raid for the first time is absolutely mind blowing. And that's the only kind of blow $70 can buy. ;)

I think it's fair not to buy the expansion until we know more about it, but I don't think Bungie will be stupid enough to release a DLC for $70 bucks without the content to cover it.

I'm more than likely going to get it, but I will be waiting until I know more about what they are offering. :)
remember they are trying to cover the '$40' price tag...

$70???

Did I miss something? I thought it was $39.99

you mean for the TTK expansion itself?

Why?

Some of the best fun I've ever had in gaming and otherwise has been on release day of Destiny expansions. I have zero doubt that for $80 I'll be well pleased and have a blast regardless, and that's based only on what we know so far

So for what may (or may not) be half the content you're willing to shell out money to basically what the original cost of Destiny was.

The first two (last two, whichever way you look at it) expansions were poor so I don't have hope that it'll change.

Yes I've enjoyed Destiny but let's be honest, the enjoyment has come from playing with you blokes not from the actual game. I last time I genuinely enjoyed the game was running a 6 man Vault of Glass on Hard as level 30s with Vooligan Blacky Spudregus_87 Seanybruz cheesedogg and laughing our arses off and just general tomfoolery and banter between us all.

The game isn't what keeps us coming back, it's the friendships we made.

RNGesus Christ, that's bloody expensive. Better be worth the price tag.

Which is why I'm waiting until after it's released to see what content there really is.

Yep silverscope has pretty much hit the nail on the head. Tbh I probably wouldn't really question going out and forking out a similar amount of money for Knack or something tomorrow.... If that's what all you guys were also doing.

Had some real fun playing this game for sure, but that enjoyment definitely has a lot more factors going for it than the game itself. Certainly not above being called out for what it is when it does dish out crap anyway.

Very underwhelmed as it stands right now but that's not saying it can't win me over before the time comes.

It's around the price of the original game. It wouldn't be silly to expect the original games worth of content or at least close to, considering how lacking the base game was.

$20 emote pack should have you guys very wary of what they have in store for $70, blindly throwing money at the screen before you know the facts is the type of suckers Activision and Bungie (they're not innocent) want playing.

Scope nailed it with his post. Try playing this game solo or teaming up with randoms. I played HoW solo and it resulted in me deleting 2 characters (wouldnt let me delete all 3) and all the gear on my remaining Lock so i wouldn't come back.

Shooting mechanics aside this games overall design leaves a lot to be desired. I dont even trust them with raids after the previous 2 cheesefests.

That's exactly the reason I was hooked on WoW for about 6 years, because of the obligation to guild mates and friends I had made in game. But as for this game I've been happily playing with pugs from LFG since the very start (ok well I skipped Dark Below for real life time restraints and other games) and the lack of commitment is what has me coming back. Depends what people want out of this game. For me I like to jump on each reset, look up some randoms and run what I need. Then the game goes back in its box for the rest of the week while I play other stuff.

no doubt about that. It's all about being able to hang out together. But it is a really, really good vehicle to do that. Will it continue to be? I guess we'll see
