well they didn't want Rockcliff and perhaps weren't able to get Kennedy.

I reckon getting two very good players in for probably draft picks that are unlikely to provide better players, and that will in any case take minimum 3 years to have an impact, is wonderful business personally. Hope it works out.

I rate colyer while green is a spud. I’d prefer smith who I actually rate mind you and colyer as stringer has huge baggage, doesn’t get much of the ball and is seriously out of form. I’d be putting the 600k stringer will get in the bank for an inside mid

Kennedy would have been a good pick up, but is he definitively any better than Langford or Mutch who we have in reserves at the moment? Maybe he is, but I don't see him as adding anything overly important to the team.

I didn't mention Gibbs and Murphy. I get that you think Essendon need big bodied mids, and your absolutely right, but getting talent in like Smith and Stringer (and hopefully Saad) improves the list immeasurably and immediately, and are in all likelihood going to be better than kids we draft for the same picks, and can contribute immediately.

Maybe we can snag a Wines next year, let's see

well considering langford came into the senior team to try emulate his work as a mid in the vfl and did sweet fa (as evidenced by the response after games by bomber posters) id say kennedy could have been a very decent pick up. Mutch is still a fair way off imo, too light for inside mid duties at afl level.

Not used to it TBH...essendon aren't exactly known for landing big fish in the trade period...cant think of any in the last 10 years except Goddard but he was a free agent.

Not counting the likes of Stewart and green who were smaller trades.

Getting stringer, Smith and saad in one off season would be huge.
