Just wondering... don't get too see that many games being in Perth.
But watched the whole game today. I have bagged our backline and thought we for sure need a key defender... which we do... but seriously we were bloody good down back I thought..

Sentana very solid.... thorton.... the other guys always performed...

what position is Armfield actually play? thought he was meant to be a defender but I saw him kick a goal when it mattered!

Guys a gun, but where is he best?

Our backline has improved heaps this year. Thornton, Waite, Setanta, Bower and Jamison are all handy talls, with three of those able to play on mediums as well.

I can actually see Army becoming a Wirrupanda-esque defender/swingman. He has great pace which he can use to run out of defence, or would be a very dangerous forward pocket.

Probably depends on match-ups, but down back is where he should spend most of his time. He's hard as a coffin nail.

our backline is a lot better than 90% of football fans realise
jamison was an absolute STEAL at 17th pick in the rookie draft
bower was one that was always going to come good, not many pure defenders go at pick 20 or below
setanta is coming good ever so slowly. still gives me a heart attack everytime we go to him under pressure tho
look for young browney to steal a back pocket spot in the coming years aswell

EDIT: hopefully we can draft a good forward line as easily as the backline was

Here is a suggestion baconb You keep watching the whole game before you start threads (Bentick and the umpiring) with this kind of crap

Umpiring has been ____ed so far... cost us a couple of goals really... 2-3 goals cause of bad decisions...

Half-back flanker. Seems to have a lot of pace on him so he can push up the ground.

For the record, I think our defence has been pretty awesome this year. If Jamison and Thornton aren't key defenders, my name is Bob Hawke.

How can you bag the efforts of Simpson, Carrazzo, Scotland, o'hAilpin, Jamison, Waite and Thornton in one thread, then turn around and say that they were sensational in another thread? Maybe the end result changed your opinion...
