I knew Bernie Vince quite well before he left the Peninsula. I also knew Jay Schulz (worked on a farm down here) and Scott McMahon.

Don't know any personally, but I used to work with a bloke who played with Ryan O'Keefe at U-18 level. Reckoned that O'Keefe was a stand-out player at that level (obviously).

Went to the same school as Luke and Sam Power, and was in the same grade as their older brother, which makes me about three years older than Luke (I think) and several years older than Sam.

yeah was in the same year level as scott pendlebury at school. exceptional basketballer and footballer, although i felt he was better at b-ball (he represented an australian U19 side as a 16 year old), but has proved he's just as good at footy, going at no. 5 in his draft (when many locals thought a 20 twenty pick would have been a fantastic result), runner up in the copeland trophy and now a big V jumper.

Apparently knocked off his brother kris' record for most 3-pointers (11) in a local basketball game.

Played cricket against Jason Dunstall in Brisbane and got on the turps with him a few times after cricket matches - decent enough guy. His girlfriend at the time (and subsequent missus) also worked with me so there was both a work and sporting related socialising. He was a reasonable cricketer, and if footy wasn't his sport of choice I'm sure he could've played top level district cricket in Brisbane.

Toddy G was also an exceptional basketballer but then swaped to footy.

Played a lot of football with Nick Jewell (Richmond, son of Tony) at East Brighton and also knew Matty Robbins and Marty Warry pretty well from playing against them for a number of years in junior footy. Used to play on Matty every time we played Ormond and would have to say he is the most naturally gifted player is have ever played against. Played a lot of junior rep cricket with Brad Hodge, not that this counts.
