Disrespect

Hey guys, just want to have my two bob here...

Watching Channel 7's Gameday last night, and seeing the Judd interview, I couldn't help but feel that there is a certain lack of respect being shown to the captain of our football club. He is trying to do a media interview, and yet there is a certain bonehead throwing his socks at him. Juddy, in typical fashion laughed this off, but there was another instance a couple of minutes later where something else got thrown at him. In reaction to this he looked a little upset; no laughing, but just seemed to take a deep breath.

Looking back on seeing the song sung now, the player standing next to Judd even tried to eye gouge him, wtf?

I don't know guys, do the boys down at the club have that much respect for Judd? I'm sure if they did they certainly wouldn't be doing this to him. Certainly angered me to see the captain treated with such disrespect.

Furthermore, Tim Watson said that the Carlton boys celebrate a win as good as any. This also made me uneasy; yeah celebrate the win, but at the end of the day it's just 4 points. I just think there might be too much of a party boy culture down there at the moment, and they aren't complete football professionals as of yet.

I think it shows they are all good mates - which is more valuable than any training you can do.

To say they dont have respect for Judd is wrong.

I would say Judd would be more respected at Carlton than almost any player in the history of the club.

Look what he has done at the club since his arrival.

Good to throw stuff at him at the start, the 2nd one was a bit "oh just f*ck off and let me do the interview now" but i'm sure noone lost any sleep over it.

And almost every player got eye gouged or fish hooked whilst singing the song.

they do the hand in the face routine every time the camera comes round when they sing the song. not an eye gouge joke. If Judd feels disrespected, he just needs to talk to the supporters one day and i'm sure 99% would express their deep, DEEP love for the man.
Also, listening to Betts on MMM...he highlighted the great leadership of Judd and how much he means to the team

Making a mountain out of a molehill here mate TBH.

I remember a number of times on 'before the game' when they are interviewing players after the game and other players are throwing things at the player being interviewed.

I remember once time when Tom Harley copped some tape right in the middle of his forehead one time and you cant say his players disrespected him.

The boys are just having a laugh and I think its great that Judd is one of the boys and that any player whether it be Gibbs or Joe Dare can approach the great man and not be overawed.

Nothing disrespectful there. Just mates having a bit of fun.

What was of more concern but only of slight concern (repeat slight) was Yazz giving the Saints backmen a serve about their speed. That might bite him, and you dont want to be giving opposition sides any added incentive to towel you up. Having said that, you got to love his confidence and enthusiasm. I dare say he is going to burn a few defenders with his laconic speed. A certain 349 gamer at his peak fitness came to mind as I saw him lope down the wing, looking like he still had a couple of gears but not being caught and if he plays 80% as good as him we have a gem. Ratts did back up his claim of being fastest of the 3 amigos so perhaps his bravado is warranted but I prefer not revving up opposition players and coaches after wins, humility never hurts.

Yarrans interview was awesome - Not only did he call the St Kilda defense "slow" (lol) but when he asked who's the fastest of the 3 he answered with "Yer, I've got em covered, easy" hahahah

It shows how new and innocent he is to say that about the Saints, that type of stuff will bite you in the arse. Always complement the team you just beat and give them no ammo for the next match.

I've got no issue with him saying that. Very few defences have the pace to match it with all three of Yarran, Betts and Garlett.

on the other hand... no. I think they hate each other, the captain is dis-enchanted, this week will feature much inhouse fighting and carlton will turn into a rabble and get killed on the field this weekend

What's going on there? Got some weird growth happening... they're as bushy as Alan Stockdale's in the centre, then thin on the ends.

On 3AW after Saturday nights game King got stuck into the Collingwood players for trying to distract the player they were interviewing saying they are getting ahead of themselves and they aren't disciplined and how they were disrespecting the media etc...

Some people just need to relax a little.
