But at least the rooms are good, I still remember the good old days in the shack out the back!!!
Ah, the shack, climb up to have a cold shower on a concrete floor while the wind whistled through the wire netting stuffed in holes up top to stop the rats. Almost like Pine Lodge only smaller and with 100-year-old paint on the walls. It had character! Back in the day when umps were real men and LIVED for the privations. Men, I say!

And then I'd go home to cardboard box in t'middle of t'road...

When was the last time you came to the Lodge?

Has it improved. He’ll no. But the players love it. The opposition prefer to be in the wood rooms than the brick rooms 2 kms away (just for Bedders).

By the way, the surface is currently a 8.5 out of 10. School has done an amazing job with additional drainage.

To be honest what killed most grounds was the amazing amount of rain in January and February. Most ground’s water level was at record highs, so any rain in subsequent months has had no room to absorb.

Must agree with Rob Gell on this point. I ran on this ground week before the bye and best ground around by far in the inner east suburbs. Bull temp ground never gets muddy these days either!
