Has the potential to be a very good footballer, I'd say the biggest questions are his work ethic and home sickness. Talent is definately there.

Hopefully moves back to the West at the end of the year. :):thumbsu:

His work ethic, intensity and willingness to throw himself into the contest are his biggest question marks. If he can get that hunger and desire he will be a hard player to stop. His fitness base, although not shown on the training track has improved and should play at least 15 games (I expect a full season).

Straight swap for JK?

Disappointed a little last year , obviously had some issues and is still very young . Could be a vast improvement this year , more settled IMO he will be very dangerous , will take one of oppositions best defenders and this will help Carltons forward line !!

There should be an option in between 'star player' and 'decent'.

I think he'll be a good yet inconsistent player who will star some days and win games off his own boot but go missing in too many games to be called a 'star'.

No chance.

I'd straight swap you McKinley, if you played hardball i'd throw in Beau Wilkes as a sweetner.

You can keep McKinley dude and i'll be more than happy to keep Yarran.

Carlton would be better off with McKinley compared to Yarran.

You don't have a focal goal kicking forward. McKinley is a proven forward at AFL level, however is struggling to currently find a niche with the number of medium-talls in our forward line.

You already have guys like Betts and Garlett who can play a crumbing role.

But as long as you're happy, i'm happy. :thumbsu:

Very talented, lot's of class. Should be a very good player for Carlton over the years.

I don't want McKinley or Wilkes or Josh Kennedy if Yarran was to be traded.
If you want him that bad, you give us Mark LeCras or no deal !!! :thumbsu:

I stand by my 'decent forward, nothing more' vote until he turns it on in a game Carlton weren't dominating.

First it was when he performs against a good team (check - vs. Geelong last week), now it's when we're not dominating.

Kicked 2 goals 2 on the weekend which is a fair effort for a guy who's played 15 games against arguably the best team in the competition.

The other thing to remember with Yarran is that he is going to be playing along side some gun midfielders in years to come. He'll probably get a loose run in the midfield and with the foot skills of the man, he'll be very dangerous.

I reckon he will be a very good player, not one of the best 30 in the comp. but up there somewhere. He will be very similiar to what Leon Davis has become i think.

I saw a young (in WA) Syd Jackson play & Yarran at the same age has similar traits. I agree 2013 with another couple of pre seasons to
build the the motor, will be a star.
If you dont know who Jackson is:

I didn't watch the game so I can't comment with any real knowledge, but from what I've read on here those two goals were incredibly cheap.

Well don't comment then

He has a long way to go, but is still only 19 and improving rapidly. His kicking is sublime.

IMO Chris Yarran >>> Daniel Rich in saying that Yarran is going to be so damaging more then Rich and he can win games of his on boot and will be more exciting good call blues

Won the game in the first 10 minutes versus Adelaide. Kicked two pretty freaky goals in the space of 3 minutes to essentially put the result beyond doubt, even at that early stage.
