FFS, we were playing the Windies at that point. If we were playing Pakistan and gave the chicken to West Indian fans, then perhaps you'd have a point.

Tbh, **** off is my first reaction.

Haha, surprised it took this long, I knew someone would take up arms with it.

I think it was unintentional by KFC, but I pissed myself when I first saw it.

As an Aussie, I didn't bat an eyelid. We don't have that stereotype. All I saw was an Aussie fan giving some West Indian fans some KFC. Nothing white vs black about it. ****ing yanks thinking the world revolves around them.

With that said this could be nothing in the US & just our press sensationalising it

why do people need to be so politically correct? so many whingers. take it in the context in which it is shown. nearly anything can be offensive if taken in the wrong like. hence sexual innuendo. everyone creates it from harmless comments/situations. ditto political correctness. get rid of the overly PC society. it's so pathetic.

Highly offensive. Black people should be banned from eating chicken on TV all together to avoid incidents like this.

For the record... I'm also highly offended whenever I see a commercial depicting a woman cooking or cleaning.

Sharing is racist?

Exactly haha.

It's just a guy having an awkward moment in the Windies crowd because he can't start a conversation. He gets KFC and it breaks the silence and starts conversation.

If anything it's the people who reported it are racist for thinking of it that way.

Oh gosh. None of you can see the watermelons subliminally on the screen - they're only visible to American eyes.:rolleyes:

Sounds like a case of white liberal guilt or the Black Panthers are getting a little restless without a Mason running their country to whine at.

Silly really.

We all know what has to be done...

I personally can't believe this has made it to the news, what do you think?

of course its racist!

this rivals a comment by a rival of tiger woods's when he was first starting out. whatever happened to his rival eh?

black people like chicken, fried chicken

also thinking that "its awkward" because youre the only white person in a crowd of black people. of course its racist

havent they learned anything from the movie Lost in translation?

anyway back on to the topic, doesnt the australian film and tv classification board review ads that are to be aired? this is one that has slipped through the net

this rivals my "WHAT THE?!?!" to an ad for life insurance, saying "SUICIDE IS NOT COVERED IN THE FIRST 2 YEARS OF COVER", of which they have amended the commercial to be printed out on screen, rather than spoken out by the ad's narrator

Any racial connotations are irrelevant in this case. This was never intended for, neither did it involve Americans.

But that 'Suicide is not covered' narration, What the **** indeed! :o

No because I'm not American so I have a brain
Piss off yanks and keep your nose out of things that have nothing to do with you.If the morons knew what cricket was then maybe they'd get the ad.

the nation of australia has a history of sweeping stuff under the carpet though

everyone ive talked to in singapore and malaysia say to me: 'youre from australia, isnt racism a big problem over there?'

They couldve/wouldve made the exact same add if the barmy army were out here this year. Not even remotely racist. Ive seen it a few times and never thought of it as racist until this fools brought it up.

And do jamaicans even care If we say they like fried chicken? I love fried chicken, just like the majority of Australians. Anyone that doesn't like fried chicken has issues. I'd be more offended if someone said I don't like fried chicken.

I think this thread may be the only one on BF where supporters from all clubs are United! :D

Good stuff fellas. :thumbsu:

I dont think i have agreed with so many opposition supporters ever!! lol
