Mate you're absolutely right. This is in Victoria, your fortress and you are the boys from the MCG.
What a luxury to be able to play the grand final at home!
What hard, cold, Victorian style football are you talking about? The one that enabled you to win one solitary flag in nearly 40 years of football?
The Westcoast players should be shaking in their boots if thats the case?
You know there's something that you'll never get to experience in your life time and I say this with all seriousness.
The ability to win a flag in hostile enemy territory! Even if you win a grand final it's never going to be equal in merit to a grand final that Westcoast win at the G for the simple fact that it's your home ground in front of mostly the Victorian team's supporters except of course if we happen to play another interstate team.
Could you imagine if Westcoast had that advantage and you had to play us at Optus to be the premiers?
So hypothetically even if you win you will not experience the same joy and satisfaction that we experience to overcome the odds against a hostile crowd.
It makes the victory that much sweeter.
Just hold on a minute Whippa Snappa!
Lets compare.
Our Boys all live in the outer reaches of Melb like Cranbourne/Broadmeadows/Frankston.On GF day they have to be up at the crack of dawn then drive 50km too the G navigating amongst Melbourne drivers,Pay for their parking at the G.
Your boys:
Get flown over/Driven to your Motel/Said motel just a stome throw from the G but still get driven to the ground and not pay parking fees.

Think you guys have a massive advantage!

Stunning rebuttal.

Close thread.

They only play the Grand Final at the country's premium stadium that has the seating capacity for a major event.

Interesting theory not sure of the sucrose fructose mix but placing hypothetical theories aside the fact is the grand final is played at the home of football

and this home is where the tigers roam and the tigers maul,

Well I concede what you propose from a Westcoke druggies club cultural perspective it certainly would be a sweet nose candy induced dream

but leaving aside this theoretical appeal of fructose and sucrose induced Westcoke delight, there inevitably tends to be a big sugar let down when reality hits.

The reality is that this game and the Grand final at least will be played at the MCG

the same MCG that the tigers roam and maul their opponents.

You will experience a lot of Westcoke players hearing foots steps this Sunday afternoon and that will haunt them come finals,

now that will be a true Victorian delight.

Westcoke druggies they are certainly flying high in more ways then one

but what goes up tends to crash down and especially crash down hard on the turf of the MCG when the tigers are involved.

eat em alive tigers.

Actually it is WA mining that's been driving the economy for the last few decades but we don't expect Richmond supporters to know about the economy apart from your regular centerlink payments.
Apart from those 2 decades you've been riding the coat tails of the Great State of Victoria.

Oh we're from Tigerland
living in our own wonderland
In any weather we get to play at the 'G'
living there rent free
we're from Tigerland
We hardly travel at all
cos we don't wanna fold
we're from Tigerland
We're always hoping that Dusty can
he's strong and he's quick
but without chopsticks
he's just another man
just like his Dad
he ain't so bad
he's from Tigerland
