In my opinion 2011 is gonna be our year.
Most of our young brigade will have 4-7 years experience which is prime time.
However i think we have a few areas to address.
Likely departures- Fletcher, Lucas.
Maybe still there- Lloyd, McVeigh
So for us to win the flag we will need to recruit a gun forward. Ive been thinking who would fit the bill, and came up with Matthew Pavlich. Hes probably one guy you could tempt to the club, as most of the high profile forwards seem destined to stay at the moment. Hopefully Gumbleton is back this year, and that will give him a good couple of years to size up. Also Jay Neagle looks perfect but the results are not coming his way. Needs a bit more speed.
We will also need a key backman to replace gadget arms. We dont have a bad back 6 with plenty of youth. Someone needs to stand up and say "I'll be the general". Maybe McPhee can take it on. Young guys like Pears, Daniher, Dempsey have shown enough to believe they have got it at this level.
The midfield probably doesnt need too much. Dont forget Prismall will be tremedous for us. Jobe can keep winning the ball, and while we have Lovett and Stanton and Winderlich, these guys have the skills to get the job done. Hopefully Hilly makes a good recovery and then he and Paddy can team up.
So I hope Knighta has a similar plan, as we should be looking to sign a key forward at the end of the year. Get rid of our first round pick if we have too, as we aint gonna draft a "Lance Franklin".
Just my theory guys, let me know your thoughts
Cheers
