We only have 1 PP. Why would we trade our captain who bleeds for the club?

Well for one i really like the guy have met him a couple of times because my dad knows his mum, But other then that i think well he will be turning 28 next year i think so in 4 years time he will be ready to retire, thats when our fght for top4-6 will be on. yes his a very good player and top 3-4 at our club, But there are about 6-7 guys fighting our for the last of the GC top 3 picks, Day, Darling, Green, Parker, Bennel, Gaff and another one will pop up in the champs.

This draft is ment to be a really good draft one of the best for the last couple of years, so why not try and get an upgrade on a pick on our PP to try get another top 10 pick?

So you are assuming that GC would pay say pick 9 for Newman and pick 26?

Depends how desperate they are for Senior players and considering he is a captain then it might add value for leadership qualities and would be worth doing.

However Hardwick loves Chris Newman as do the players and I can't imagine Craig Cameron knocking on his door and saying oh hey we are going to trade you to GC...thanks for your service...cya later!

The club has said all along they will be aggressive in the market place. With free agency coming, we have already added extra recruiters to the list, specifically for that purpose. We have room in the cap, if we try to land the best player available to complement the list, i have no issues. It's the trading of high end picks i have issues with.

I don't think we will be trading high picks. Pick 4 and then one pick in the 20's are safe...would love to sit in on a list management meeting!

now before u all shoot me, take a chill pill and relax. would anyone be up for giving up pick 4 for dangerfield/boak and then 26 and a player for dangerfield/boak. this gives up 2 young guns dangerfield 20 baok 22 who still have 10 years of footy and are proven guns. where as pick 4 and 26 are unproven. only downside is they will cost us salary cap wise but with our delistings and all we still should be only be paying around the 95% mark with these guys. ofcourse it all depends on if they want to come and how much money they would command but if it was possible would u guys agree with those deals?

Lol no one is going to shoot you down for a gun kid who went pick 5 and has shown why and a gun kid who went ten and is one of the most rated youngsters in the game except for Adelaide and Port supporters who would spit in your face if you offered a player and pick 26 for one of these two.

I would be more than happy with your deal but there is no chance it would go through from the SA clubs end.

I rate Boak, but is he really what he need? We've got enough inside players. It's not an area we lack. We need players with better disposal and line breaking capabilities.

LOL we won't be trading our captain, plain and simple. Do you have any idea what that would do to the playing group? This isn't a videogame where we can trade without consequence, a move like this would severely seperate the playing group from the administration and list management people.

nfi why people think brown was a bad pick up. he was amazing before he broke his leg and the picks we gave up ended up to being not much at all (i think it was a weak draft).

Would love a Ruckman either Trengove or Sam Jacobs, and vezpremi could develop into a nice forward flanker..

keep pick 4 other than we should look for agressive and smart trading decisions.

i dont get this . clearly getting brown with picks 6 and 20 was the wrong process to go thru when you have just come of 14th and 13th and traded away your 1st round picks the two previous yrs.
the list was shit the correct process was to do what we did this yr. clean out and and chase quality kids with as many picks as possible.

even when brown came we went on to win a spoon, brown is gone where is the 10 yr plus player who would be in our system in yr 7 and leading the kids.
yeah brown was a good player but the timing was wrong in trading away early picks for mature players. that is a proven fact.

yep the picks we gave up were not used well but thats not to say we would have used those picks on those players.
if you dont go thru the process you cant find that quality LONG TERM PLAYER. we did not go thru the right process in taking brown, with finishes of 16 12 9 16 9 and 15 chasing mature players with early picks has clearly been proven to be wrong. browny should have been the icing on the cake for a challenging team not the nuts and bolts of a developing team.

if people cant understand this now after all thats happened they just never will.
its not a put down on browny he was a good player but those picks we used up to get should have been part of a youth process. when our list is actually built then we can go after a brown type.
