I guess my main point is this:
There are many eye-witness accounts of a variety of small or minor religions of the time, many of which only lasted a very short time, which survive today in recorded text.
If Christianity (including Jesus) existed at that time, why is it that no recorded text exists?
The premise is that Christianity did take hold at a much later date and to give it credibility and authenticity the figure Jesus was invented

IMV, there is far more evidence to support my position than there is for your position.

The one thing we do vehemently agree on, is that this is about History, because like you (I hope I've got this right) I don't give a f**k what people believe as far as faith is concerned

The only problem with any of your arguments is that Jesus lineage goes back to King David which is 2000 years prior to to his birth and can be traced through the old Testiment, you might want to do some homework before spouting untruths on one of the most holy days of the Christian calender.

What's holy for some is not holy for others, however we all need to be respectful of each other's beliefs.

It may be the case but it also has geneology which is undeniable, your arguement was that Jesus never existed, it has nothing to do with 500 year old men, anyway, I'm not a religious person but I have done my research and you can't deny the proof that he actually existed, it seems more that you have a problem with it all but have no evidence to back it up. There is over 500 pieces of evidence that everything about Jesus was real and can be proven

Most of the eye witness accounts, if there where any would have been stored in the great archives of Rome and other great cities, and unfortunately most of those were destroyed in fires or over time. Very few writings have survived to today complete or other wise.
Most that have are incomplete. Very few are complete works. A lot of what we have, has to be backed up by archaeology digging to be sure it is true.
No way am l religious, in fact opposite, but do believe that Jesus walked this earth. But as to what the bible teaches us about the man,that’s another matter altogether.
But not for here.
