By definition, atheism is the absence of belief in a deity. That's all.

It's not the belief that there is nothing we can't comprehend and it's sure as hell isn't a claim to have answers to the big unanswered questions of the universe.

Nope, That argument is so so flawed imv. Imagining something, that to that point in time only exists in your mind, does not preclude it's existence. Almost all scientific knowledge and inventions start out as nothing but a thought, a concept. Then they are tested and made to exist or proven to be the way things are (e.g. physics), e.g. the capturing of a real life sound in a piece of vinyl..

If we have the mental ability to conceptualize and create these things into existence, then why would the conceptualization of god/gods be any different? Because we haven't been able to test or prove this conceptualization yet doesn't mean it cannot exist.

It's not a belief at all. It's a scientific model based on the evidence available. Such as cosmic microwave bakground radiation and the expanding nature of our universe. Things that are testable by any of us if we are prepared to do the work.

If contrary evidence was discovered that blows the big bang out of the water, scientists would jump over each other to be the first to discredit the big bang theory in a heartbeat.

There's nothing scientists like more than proving other scientists wrong.
