I would need an interpreter to tell me what the percentiles mean! I did say that not one of the 500 in my building has come down with the virus and maybe the percentiles support my lack of personal concern, or maybe I should hold back on the whisky and sodas. jathanas and co have a head for this sort of stuff but it's just meaningless figures to me. Anyway, best of luck with your 11 rating and hope you avoid the infection as indeed I and everyone else here have done. Having a low or high percentile, whichever is more favourable, is not going to push either of us up a spot or two in the plane boarding queue.

At least we are not throwing our dogs and cats off balconies or into the streets like many of the incredibly gullible and somewhat callous folk in China and India have done. I judge people by the way they treat their animals, and some races/countries all too easily fall short of the expectations I have for a decent human being ranking. In fact, I would like those who can so readily dispose of their companion animals to be similarly disposed of themselves.

Ron McKeown had a good year at full back in our premiership year. I can't see why he would not make a list provided he was judged as a defender not a forward. Daicos and Millane'e talent was evident to everyone. I think they would go top 10. Millane's character might be questioned given the extra time put into searching for character and lifestyle flaws.

Yes, Daicos and Millane would be hot property because the scouts would have seen them carve up junior footy (thinking Millane was captain of Dandenong at 19 after he rejected Hawks).

Love Ronny McKeown (reminds me of one of my cousins who went to gaol). He would have successfully auditioned for the ‘Leigh Brown’ role, underwhelmed in his 3-year contract, before going to the Gold Coast and kicking 5 goals against us, and marrying an Indy Car blondie.

McKeown never made it as a forward despite one or two good returns, but seemed to find his niche at full back with his running and beautiful kicking. I felt sorry for Ron playing every game then losing his GF spot to Christian due to the need for extra height against Salmon. I had forgotten he went to GC and didn't realise he kicked 5 against us. Did GC play him up forward again?

Shows how easily fooled I can be when just out of bed half groggy. GC was still 20 years away from entering the competition! Sleeping less than 4 hours a night is not conducive to clear thought in the early morning.

In 1995, Gayfer had retired and was playing for Tatura. Because he worked in town he trained at Old Xavs for the year - also had Paul Tuddenham and Ben Buckley playing. Gayfer was a great presence around the club, even though he was just training there. And he was still super-fit. However, when he trained, he looked decidedly sub-par in skills compared to most others - he invariably hit a target, but just looked awkward, even amongst ammo players. Tuddy and Buckley were definitely a class above. The fact that Gayf got a premiership and 142 games away is a testament to him.

When I get less sleep than what I want at night, I find 20 to 40 minutes mid-afternoon helps.

I have had a chronic sleep problem for 5 years which is getting worse. I sleep at best 3-4 hours, then when I wake I never get back to sleep, so lie awake from 3-4 am on thinking about everything negative that is happening in life. I rise between 8 - 8.30 am. I now fear going to bed because of the inevitable short sleep and waking hours that make the day seem something to be endured due its extra hours.

I have a doctor who rightly or wrongly over the years has prescribed several different types of pills within the benzodiazepine family which are now useless as sleep aids but I have become psychologically dependent on taking anyway. I don't abuse them but I do take them nightly. I am going to ask the doctor tomorrow for an anti-depressant to see if that offers some relief because the whole situation is becoming intolerable.

I cannot sleep in the daytime. I tried a private sleep clinic but was immediately sceptical of the approach and never returned. The one thing I did take away and implement was the advice to go to bed late e.g midnight and beyond. I have discussed this problem before on bf and got lots of thoughtful advice but none of it worked. My ability to read and write has become affected as my concentration levels are down.

Now with age and covid there is even more to keep my mind occupied in the many dark hours at my disposal. Frankly, I see no light at the end of a tunnel which in turn seems to be growing longer. Many of us have a cross to bear, and I guess not sleeping has become mine. I am actually amazed at how little sleep a body can have but still continue to function.
