Down to max 5 hours sleep with inability to return to sleep. Came on suddenly following a lifetime of reasonable sleep patterns. Put up with this for several years with occasional use of sleeping pills. Then discovered one which prolonged the sleep time but is now not effective. No one has been able to isolate the fundamental problem. Biggest problem really is not being able to get back to sleep.

If that's your main issue, then try something other than drugs. Relaxation therapy etc etc. If I were you, I'd think that my body is telling me that something is wrong and the problem is not a lack of drugs. Try some exercise. Try staying away from computers. Try having sex before you go to sleep. There's a lot of ways to address this I think. Thats my two cents.
 
I need to post this now. I just read an article about travel bubbles.

We could allow people to travel overseas to wherever they wanted on the planet on a few conditions:
1. No emergency evacs - signed release required
2. No embassy assists - signed release required
3. Mandatory 2 weeks at a hotel on arrival back in Australia at self-expense.
4. Any test for virus on return requires hospitalisation at travellers own expense.
Sounds fair to me. Caveat emptor.

A major issue for gov'ts in this virus thing, is how to manage their duty to protect the masses from individuals who might harm them. It's the classic individual rights versus collective rights. If you can separate the individuals and make them accountable for their own actions and they dont harm the collective, then let them go for it. If a 10000 australians went overseas and contracted the virus and died, i'd say fair enough - as long as they were over 18.

Penicillin presents an interesting juxtaposition. You see, the big thing about penicillin and all the other drugs/treatments approved by heath authorities is that they are clinically proven.

Rescue has been clinically researched numerous times and found to do nothing. The “can’t do any harm” is the thin edge of the wedge that sees vulnerable/desperate people exploited by snake oils, whether it be anything from cancer treatments, autism, sleep, whatever.

I just take the view that sellers of crap need to be called out. Rescue is undoubtedly a placebo. But if it works for you, great.

As I stated at the start of all this, I’m a great doubter of home remedies and the such.
My mindset when I first tried RR was definitely not in a “this will work” category. In fact, it was exactly the opposite. Like you, I was disbelieving.
I love the doc to prescribe a pill to make it all better. But sometimes the pill is worse than the disease.
My issue with your statements on this remedy is that you are trying to put the users down as dumb and uneducated.
That simply is not true.

I can’t help it if you have issues with what you have inferred from what I wrote, but I believe the only adjective I have used is suggestive.

Which is what you are by definition if what is a clinically proven placebo works for you.

It’s ok, being suggestive on placebos isn’t a sign of dumb or uneducated. Without any factual evidence I would say it usually correlates with upbeat and optimistic personalities.

I always thought you’d have to have something wrong in the grey matter department to go out and shoot defenceless animals.
And it looks like the grey matter needs a little help.
Hunters must have smaller jewels than █████.
 
Not sure Eddie should be asking questions and requesting for information about the Steven stabbing. He seems to enjoy making a rod for his own back.
Particularly given our players' predilection for getting into trouble.
