lame as ****, didnt address the biggest problem of dota 1. Played 2 solo games and it seems you need to be with friends to get a decent game. A team with vent/communicating friends crushes pubs 90% of the time. It seems they use solo players just to fill party structures/ voids.

Need to take the LoL approach where they pit equal teams ie (4 friends 1 solo, vs 4 friends 1 solo, 5 friends vs 5 friends, 3 friend 2 friend vs 3 friend 2 friend etc).

Play a few games (~5-50 depending on how many you win early) --> Get to an MMR where communication is common and individual skill is high --> Stomp teams of 5 with 4 pubs and yourself with ease.

Otherwise: Stomp teams of 5 who are in lower MMR, because MMR gets inflated in a group --> technically you should always be better than the stack.

Playing with people is much more enjoyable, partied up with a few yanks yesterday on our server and got 3 W's in a row against decent opposition.

Sometimes it's all about luck on who you get on your team, I have gone 20-2 in some games but lose because I have 2 guys with 10 deaths no kills etc

my housemate and I are so far 5-0, amazing what a little bit of communication can do.

Do most of you guys stick to a couple of heroes and master them, or do you tend to pick based on how others pick or just go random?

I was always going random initially to get a feel for each hero and who I liked.
Then went on a winning run with Axe and have liked his game.

I generally wait until my team and the enemy team has picked and then pick what we desperately need, but back when I was learning many, many years ago I would pick Ursa/Sven/Lion/SK and learn how to play all the other heroes in the game by simply facing them with a hero I felt comfortable with.

i usually random but if i get sick of losing or i think i playing with scrubs, i usually pick SK/SB/PA/Omni to try and carry to win.

Random is a great way to keep the game fresh imo, as if i get the same hero all the time i generally get sick of Dota.

Starting off I always used to pick luna/lycan/night stalker/lion. These days i always random

I used to use sven and riki when i firt started playing. I think i played something like 30 games in a row with riki haha

Went 35/4/6 with huskar, had the opposing team crying for picking huskar basically calling me shit lol. In the game before i picked riki and vs'd the same party of 5 guys and they were crying about that too. Huskar and riki are probably one of the easiest heroes to counter.

I dont like visage at all, everyone who i have seen play him ends up feeding .

My new favourite hero is Pugna, can push and in group ganks can really f*** s*** up

The minions give that damn 100 gold bounty though. The pressure of not letting them die under any circumstances always gets to me when I'm microing.

I've found really good overall stats like heroes winning % with items etc.

I right click on my name in the play screen and select View Dota Profile, shows you wins/loses and can view each game stats? Is this what you mean?
